Lamido Exclaims After Court Sends Him To Prison -“You mean I’m now a prisoner?”

After the judge’s pronouncement that Former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, his two sons Aminu and Mustapha be remanded in prison, a mild drama ensued between Lamido and the Deputy Chief Registrar of Federal High court, Barrister Solomon Akpedah.

Lamido was asked to proceed to board the waiting van taking him to Kano central prison when he exclaimed, “you mean I’m now a prisoner?!”.

Barrister Akpedah, however, replied that “no sir, you are not a prisoner”.

It will be recalled that the Former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, his two sons Aminu and Mustapha and one Aminu Wada Abubakar were charged to court yesterday by the EFCC  on a 28-count charge of corruption and money laundering.

Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court ruled on Thursdaymorning that they are to remain in Kano Central Prsion till September 28, 2015.

This came after the prosecuting counsel, Chile Okoroma, prayed the court to remand the accused persons in prison custody as the EFCC holding facilities in Abuja and Kano were already overstretched.

Lamido is said to have abused his position as governor of Jigawa State between 2007 and 2015, by awarding contracts to companies where he has interest, using his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha as front. They were arraigned alongside four companies where the Lamidos are believed to have interest.

The companies are Bamaina Holdings Limited, Bamiana Company Nigeria Limited, Bamaina Aluminum Limited and Speeds International Limited.

Can you just imagine how this man and his family embezzled the common wealth of a state and impoverished his people. Odiegwu ooo!
EFCC I think the next man on your list should be the Ex-governor of Abia state, T.A Orji and his son. by the power of God the long arm of the government/law will catch up with him for mismanagement, fraud, embezzlement and the likes.
    More power to you EfCC!

  55. Yes T.A. Orji, his wife and his arrogant thieving son should be next. This thieving family should be made to account for stealing the state coffers to the ground. Yet TA and the son look like Kwashiokor patients. The wife looks like those women who sell second hand [Okrika] in bales at Ariara market. The reason is because Abians curse them every day. In the whole of South East the two most deplorable states are Abia and Ebonyi. Yet we had governors who were in the saddle for 8 years but did nothing. Elechi of Ebonyi is almost a walking corpse, his son is now an imbecile. They are gradually reaping the fruits of the prayers made for them by the impoverished citizens of the state.

We are waiting for their cremation.
