DeleteThe major lie that embarrassed me was when I was in high school, had a guy who liked me and I liked too. I now told him I was in university, meanwhile na SS3 I dey dat time o. Na so one day I dey waka with my school mates on the road going home to get something for our exams, as I was in boarding school so the lie was easy to maintain. That's how my Mr handsome drove pass and parked right in front of my friends and I as we made to cross the road .. he opened his mouth agape as he looked at me from head to toe in my school uniform.
....Shebi at this point a normal person go accept say dem don catch her...but me? I still strong face dey prove point. Na so I bone face waka comot and he just drive away. When dude eventually saw me when I was home on holidays, he asked for an explanation. I said the uniform was nothing, as it was rag day in my uni so I decided to use school uniform as my costume. Dayummn... in retrospect I feel foolish. What a fucked up lie!! The guy just shook his head and gave me a weak smile. Mshew.

When we went to fill in our WAEC registration form, I was with my friends, so I had to fill in the wrong age. That's how the DOB on my WAEC certificate is different from my birth certificate... He didn't believe me, wanted me to tell him I slept with the guy.
You see, I honestly would have told him I slept with someone to get it, cry for forgiveness and all that but I didn't want to give him that joy he'd derive from being right (he always thought i wasnt faithful when i was)about me when all I did was a one time thing with a man who was on my case for 3 years.
Okay... I didn't tell him the truth and it cost me my relationship.. lol
He would have still broken up with you if you told him m the truth . Men can't handle ish like that. It's a good thing he will never know for sure

ReplyDeleteI don't lie and I hate liars with a passion. Everybody close to me knows i have zero tolerance for lies. I prefer to tell the truth and face the consequences no matter how grave. I don't have the time or patience to sit and be formulating stories just to impress another human being biko.

I use to be a pathological liar with fine innocent face. Though I lie unconsiously due to the situation I find myself. Buth thank God for his holy spirit that have come to dwell in me, Now I do things cautiously because there's an inner voice that sillently speaks to me, judging my every move or actions just to discipline me. I will Rather hurt you with the truth than pleasing you with a lie. I still lie though cause I am not perfect...

ReplyDeleteEveryone lie at a point in their life. But I can't remember any lie that cost me something. To save situations I lie on few occasions but I always loss eyes contact when doing so. That's why I tried to be truthful at all cost cos an observant person will detect when am lying.

I lie but my husband senior me for lying ehn. He lies unnecessarily. He's a pathological liar. I tire for his lying. I lie when it's necessary and only if it will benefit me. I once lived one year rent free in nice apt in canada by lying that my boyfriend was battering me. I moved to the shelter for one month sef and gave tales of serious abuse. But I was so broke then. Couldn't afford rent and someone taught me the free housing scheme. Even got a doctors note saying my 20 year old scar was from my boyfriend hitting me. I didn't even have a man then. The market rent of the apt was over $1000 per month and I got to live free till I finished school and got a job. I don't lie anymore though. No need to. I thank God for my life.

My new guy I met on SDK lies a lot but I love this guy because he has told me some really bitter truth about himself but now that he loves me & vice versa, he don dey tell lies to save his head, u know yourself, I can't wait to see your big head!
