Horror In Awka As Four Women Die In Same Building

Awka Capital City had a black Tuesday, when corpses of four married women were found dead and decomposed in a building at Olisa Onyeka Street in the Government Reservation Area (GRA).

When Daily Times visited the building it was gathered that one of the dead women, who owned the property, had lost her husband last Saturday and the body deposited at the mortuary.
It was on that fateful Saturday that the woman whose name was given as Mrs. Chinwe Obi, said to be a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (I NEC), Awka, invited three women suspected to be members of her church, the Omega Power Ministry (OPM) for an all-night prayers in her flat.

It took three days for her neighbour (name withheld) to alert people in the area about a decomposing stench and dirty fluid flowing from the flat.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hassan Karma said
''It’s quite unfortunate. It is something nobody should pray for. There was no sign of violence on their bodies. We also saw a power generating set but there was no fuel in the tank. It is left for an autopsy to be carried out on them, in order to find out what killed them.”

A source confirmed that the woman, in whose flat a prayer session was held, who was in her mid-forties, and her late husband had no children, and so it would be difficult to trace her relatives or the relatives of the other three dead women.

OMG..What a tragedy!.....They probably inhaled something,maybe generator fumes.

  5. I think the CO from the generator should be blamed. That ish can react with haemoglobin in the blood and block circulation of oxygen.

So because the couple don't have children, it will be difficult to trace their families. Odiegwu!

May their souls rest in peace.

    1. Daily Times nko?

Why is it necessary 2 say that they were 4 MARRIED women in the opening sentence? Being 4 women is not good enough. And meanwhile they are kuku the ones that now later tell us that hostess of the prayer meeting is a widow. Abi widow too join for married woman?

Anyway, may their souls rest in peace.,

    2. Daily Times nko?

Why is it necessary to tell us in the 1st sentence that the 4 of them are MARRIED women? What hidden message or prejudice are they trying to pass along or am I the one over reading things? Is the story more pathetic because they were married or are they trying to subtly tell us that they were married so if they had stayed in their houses at night like married women should, then they would have been alive? I just don't gerrit.

And meanwhile, they now later tell us that one of them was in fact a widow. Widow too join for married woman?

Anyway, may their souls rest in peace.

  7. Stels, how can it be generator fumes? It was stated clearly that there was a generator set but no fuel inside.

Well, unless the generator was actually on, and they inhaled the fumes and died while the generator continued to run and when the fuel finished, it went off, hence the fueless generator. Its either that or some major terrifying spiritual ish went on in that apartment! ~shudders~

  8. ThIs is ritualistic matter
    It wasn't the generator.
Why did she call the women for an allnight prayer after the husband passed?
Was the man a ritualist? Was there some sort of torment warranting the prayer session?
    Hmnnn...

  11. I heard the story from a reliable source this morning, one of her collegue. she was an electoral officer in the last general election and was up till when she died. The husband came back from Cameron and died on the said date. The woman gathered with her church members to pray for the dead at night but could not make it the next morning. INEC office Awka is still in shock as to what happened. The woman has no kids. Meanwhile, they are waiting on autopsy to know the cause of their death. Generator fumes is being assumed to be the cause. Its a pathetic story.

  16. Likely carbon monoxide fumes from the generator set. So unfortunate and unnecessary. Hope all this senseless/untimely deaths of innocent citizens will make the govt or responsible parties fix the power sector asap.
