That last pic is confusing, are they saying Depp was given the script and he interpreted the role himself? The Lazy walk and Slur was his own interpretation? Is that how movies work? I thought a director is the one is charge of that?
It is the director's discretion to let Johnny express himself freely or say No to it. It seems the director let him do his thing. But the executives weren't totally impressed after all.
