Diezeani Appears Before London Police

Embattled former Nigerian Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke on Thursday afternoon finally appeared at a London Police Station.

According to new reports, Alison-Madueke was at the Charing Cross Police Station, London to honour the invitation by the authorities. She was granted bail on the same condition given earlier and asked to return to the station on 21 June.

In October last year, the former minister, who was one of the most powerful officials of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, was arrested by the UK National Crimes Agency, alongside four other people.

The charges against her were looting and money laundering in the United Kingdom using a network of relatives and businessmen.

  1. Now this is how the law works

You are granted bail and allowed to go. Not rearrest you again for stupid charges

You go and wait for the date you are asked to come back again

Stella what do you mean by again?? Is it one day they use it finishing such matters?? Has she been proven guilty?? They will keep giving her new dates until they are thru with her..

Really sometimes your opinions don't matter in issues.. Just post the story and allow us talk about it.. Because now some daft readers will come and say again..

    2. Thank you ooo!! You can say it again! I wonder why sometimes she just doesn't write the story and leave us (the readers) to state our opinion. Most of the time her opinion is not relevant or outright stupid (No offense abeg). I don't even know if she thinks before posting. Sometimes reading her comments on a story (especially on chronicle of BVs) makes me so upset I have to hiss.

    3. Sweetheart, they granted her bail 'cos they're marking her closely. She cannot run away. But for Naija, grant them bail and the next day they're on an island in the Caribbean.

That time they will be ready to charge her to court. Nt like efcc that will arrest and refuse bail and charge u after 2days then go back after a week to amend the charges and then lose the case after 1yr

They will even cry with you and offer you handkerchief to clean your eyes. Then make sure you serve the term well.
Maybe as you re getting to the end of your jailterm, they will finish another investigation and knack you another sentence with handkerchief and hot tea.

  36. June is not far. They should recover whatever she has taken unlawfully and as well necessary punishment to follow.

  37. See how the law works in advanced societies? If its naija its arrest and rearrest without facts and most times they lost the case for lack of facts which they do not take time to gather. My annoyance is the fact that most of our lawyers and judges have or more degrees from foreign universities yet they act like robots, is it a naija thing or what?
