Niger Delta University Shut Down indefinitely

Bayelsa state-owned Niger Delta University on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 was shut down indefinitely.

The management of the school shut down the school after protest by some 200 Level Engineering students became violent in the school premises on Tuesday.
The protest began after the management implemented a law in the faculty.

The law states that any student that fails the three core engineering courses will be withdrawn from the faculty.

After the implementation of the law, over 20 final year engineering students were affected and asked to leave the faculty to continue at 200 Level in another faculty.

    1. Like seriously....

10 8 8 (minimum credit required for math, physics and chemistry respectively) has been the formula used by FUTMINNA for more a decade now, For you to proceed to year two, an engineering student cannot afford to fail any of these courses, else you change school /faculty.

While the school generally withdraw students below 1.5 CGPA on 5.00 irrespective of the department

    3. Where did you learn that?

In my school then, they withdraw students every year. Even during MSC, if your gpa is below 2.5 after course work its withdrawal straight. We didn't make trouble.

They should go and study hard

  9. It will be good to shut the university for a few days, but going far will affect those who are nothing to do with all tings happened around. Once we talk about the violent behaviors of some students, we must consider that there are some students who are just there to study and aspire their ambitions to become something in life. Also, I can't agree with view that all engineering students are problematic, I do work for a professional resume writing service known as ResumePlus. I have experience connecting with many engineering student when they appeared for resume help and the interactions are all felt really good as they shared some nice thoughts. So, for one's fault we can't tag all others are worse.
