Rerun Elections Hold in Rivers State Today..

As voters in Rivers State file out this morning in a re-run election to fill national and state assembly seats amidst violence, all we ask and hope for is a violence-free rerun elections.

There is already a deep concern and fear about the possible outbreak of violence during the exercise because of happenings In recent weeks, which has turned the state into a battleground of sorts for some members of the main political parties, which scores of lives have been lost in the process.

This has made it clear to all that the state, as it goes to the polls today, may be sitting on a knife’s edge.

But please the nation cannot afford another bloodbath in Rivers. Which is why no room should be left for errors, and no stones should be left unturned to
ensure a violence-free, fair, transparent and credible polls today.

I understand that security is very tight in the state already and the team of security operatives put together for the
poll has assured that today’s elections would be free and fair, but we still want to  beg the youths especially, to avoid any form of violence as they cast their votes today.

#Please just vote

#No Violence

  8. God please calm the agitators. Let there be peace. Oh God silence the evil powers that want to rubbish your efforts in Nigeria. If there be any plans from the "children/child of the bonds woman" to use the military thru this rerun, to occupy the oil rich regions, let their plans come to naught. IJN.

  9. Why the rerun?. Look at lives being lost. Rivers is pdp, period. What is APC trying to achieve here? Trying to win the oil rich south? ' Cause that's the backbone of the economy. Igniting war like sentiments? It's the people's land & their oil. So let the malams & their followers get over it. Nor be by force that APC has to win Rivers. If the malam had any good intentions, he would have let sleeping dogs lie. But hélas, he does not have any regards for human life. Him and his people they live by the sword and they die by it; referencing Boko Haram, Isis, etc.

    1. So we should just go ahead & decree Rivers State a One-party state shey? The pple won't have a sey in which party to govern them & their choice of individuals abi? With this kind of mentality, u & ur party will resort to violence when there's competition. Smh!
