Break Fast.....

Two days ago,the Weather was so warm that people were fainting and almost fainting ....
I really don't have appetite to eat and I cant wait to go on Summer Holidays so that i don't have to cook at all..lol

The pic up there is what i feel like having now..Oatmeal cooked in milk and honey...we call Oatmeal hafer flocken in Germany and it is eaten in various forms, nobody cooks it here except when it is baked as biscuit/cookie.

Try it and see if you are a cake baker, you can maker Quaker oats muffins...really healthy.

I am off to make and eat breakfast so gimme sometime to get back to blogging.

Its Raining and I am sending my ''OYI'' to go and buy bread for Breakfast ..LMAO

  12. Good suggestion. I know about oatmeal cooked loose in milk, granulated sugar and drops of vanilla flavour. Yummy fluffy creamy. Can be perceived from a distance. I will try baking this quaker oat muffins next weekend. Today? No space, the cleaners are here, our eyes on everything.

Cooking Ukwa and pre-boiled yellow corn with plenty dry fishes and yellow pepper(all peppers).

    1. How do you people eat that ukwa thing??.. It's the nastiest thing I have ever tasted. I remember when we went to Amandim Olo for Christmas holidays and I was served that stuff.. Eeewww!

      Delete
    2. Sometimes i do add akidi.

      See how i prepare mine.

Cook the corn seperate till its now very soft, cook the akidi separate, then the ukwa seperate with little salt added to it cos u have to sieve the water, i dont use akanwu rather i use ngu. Once the ukwa is okay, i will sieve it and seperate it from the water cos dh likes the water.

Then wash mangala of different types put it in a clean pot, add little water, salt, maggi, red pepper that is sliced into it and season to ur taste. Allow the water to dry up in the fish. Then keep it seperate. Then put a pot on fire, add red oil that will be okay, add onions, and stir, add crayfish and pepper, maggi, add ogiri preferably native one oo no be this lagos one wey dey smell like wetin i no no. Then turn it well, add salt to taste and stir, taste it to make sure its okay then add the corn, akidi, ukwa and turn, after turning, taste it again to mske sure that the taste is okay if not, add salt and pepper to taste. After that u can add the fish, add little onugbu leaf if you like into it and turn it again till its okay. Its not a must to use akidi and ogiri . U can just use corn and breadfruit /ukwa but my father prepares it with all that i mentioned above. But when i prepare mine i dont use akidi cos My Dh doesnt like it. You can also add fried peperish liver to it when serving. You will like it. I repeat thats how i prepare mine. It can be prepared in different ways.

Xp how you dey? I am sickoo. Malaria wan kill me ni. My children were just released from the hospital last 3 weeks ago. Sickness every where. But God is awesome. Every one is fine now except me still on drugs.

No mind my typos.. Will be back online fully by next week.

Portable how u dey? Welcome back.

    4. Sexiest...good to hear from you NNE. Sorry about the mild fever that came upon your family I'm sure by this time tomorrow all will be well. Our God reigns!
Will send you a therapy for malaria at night so the Doctors won't see your family often. Ndo.

For ukwa...I love your recipe, close to mine but no ogiri or akidi. And I don't allow the water in the mangala and ASA to dry it because sand is always cropping up under the pots no matter how you wash the dry fishes.
Dh loves the ukwa aroma so adding ogiri or any other takes off that aroma.
Ukwa is a stimulant for him to fire on and sleep well, you know that ogiri seed acts as antidoze to stimulants, the two don't work together. It works with cocoyam. Ogiri keeps the sleep away.
And serving him ukwa without the thick water he will be frowning. Hahaha.
      Different ways with different men.

      Be good!

      Delete
    5. Rocky...I don't think Ezeagu people cherish ukwa that much. I think their delicacy is centered around African salad (abacha) and sorts. Sorry about the bad experience.

Maybe I invite you for lunch when next I cook. The dry fishes is what attracts some chics more to the delicacy.

      Happy weekend.
