Homeless Actor Tunde Alabi's Leg Amputated.

The ailing veteran Nollywood actor of Village Headmaster fame, Tunde Alabi, who has been laying critically ill, over complications from diabetes at the Lagos General Hospital has had one of his legs amputated.

The surgery to save the Thespian from further complication by amputating one of his leg took place yesterday, Monday, October 24, 2016. There were several efforts to checkmate the amputation surgery but all failed as they seemed to have come rather too late.

According to the veteran actor’s colleague, Paul Julius, who is the person solely taking care of him, the actor has no home to go back to after the surgery. “ As I speak with you, the amputated leg has just been taken to the mortuary. But that is not our major concern right now but where he will return to as his home. Right now, he has no family, no friend that can take him in. He is homeless,” he said.

“ Our effort to reach the governor of Lagos State, his home tate, has only proven partially successful as nothing definitive has come off it. The governor knows Uncle Tunde and will be willing to help but bottlenecks of bureaucracy has not helped matters” he added. Tunde Alabi has been on the acting scene since the glorious days of television drama in Nigeria and he’s today one of the last of that octopus called The Village Headmaster, a television drama that was the in-thing in its days on National Television.

His role in the now rested soap opera ‘PALACE’ produced by Ralph Nwadike was one that viewers will not forget in haste

    1. Simply pathetic. No kids, wife, siblings, cousins, or friends? Na wa. I'm sure he has but they prolly abandoned him. This is sad.

Lagos state should arrange section 8 kinda home for cases like this. Especially for veterans who are known in the society.

  12. Which family? Some families only come around when there is plenty but when you have nothing they turn their back.
I hope he gets all the help he needs. Complications arising from diabetes is bad cos then it will be a 50/50 chance of survival unless adequate step is taken.
    I wish him quick recovery.

    1. Nah this is too much. No one really knows what went wrong here. Some people just get dealt unfairly in life. He may not have lived recklessly, no one really knows.

  26. So very sad and pathetic. This familylessness is the one sorerest point here. Yes some People abandoned like this are always men who didn't marry because they blatantly refused and avoided or kept away from family even after being pestered by their families and friends to marry.
But if a man marries and is close to family members, even if he had no children or lived an unacceptable lifestyle, he won't be totally abandoned in his time of need like this.

    May God save him

    Sad!

  31. Why so many assumptions? Many ppl just don't want to deal with sick ppl especially ifthey are poor. If he was well off his ppl would be very present, or even a fake claiming to be family. The prayer of long life must always mention good health in mind, body and spirit. Many pray for long life and forget to ask for good health. I hope his ppl will come and take him home. Diabetes is just awful, not everyday yam and cassava, some days a lil steam cabbage and carrots, or a salad. Not everyday dumping in food, some days fast and give your body a rest.

  32. His still not having a family is a wonder to me, Wishing him speedy recovery.

  33. Was this not the same procedure the late actor Pete Eneh went through before his demise from the amputated leg pain?

I hope he gets help quickly.

Where are his family? his village members nko? or he was born in an orphanage? Someone should communicate on the whereabouts of his family.

I wish you quick recovery Sir.
