What Do You Think?

What crime would make a parent go to this extent? What do you think about these actions by these Fathers?

Do you think as a parent, you would ever do anything like this? After all it is your child and you are responsible for how they turned out!

  3. People from that tribe have no iota of respect for their parents that is how they are brought up and then it backfires against them. The only thing they worship and respect is money so this is not surprising at all so they should deal with it ans stop complaining publicly. We don't give 2 fucks.

  4. Many parents who have disowned their children in the past, has always regretted it for the drastic actions they took.
Some even lay a curse on them. This one made it a public notice maybe because he's a well known business man.

But, I will never disowned my child no matter what; God Almighty have not disowned me for all the numerous sins have committed (although I keep begging for forgiveness and I never go back committing the same sin).
God is merciful and I believe in tendering justice with Mercy.

  18. Oluwastella, some children are above redemption, some children will take their parents landed property document and sell the land regardless of the pain it will bring such parent. I am saying "let's not judge those that disown their child rather let's pray our own children don't turn out bad"
Remember those parents that disowned their children were in a festive mood when the child was newly born to them, abi if they did not disown the child when he/she was a baby why disown him when its time to start reaping from him... Think!! Means the child must have grown wings and done something unpardonable.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I disagree with you Stella. It is not always the parents fault if their child turned out bad. Some parents do try as much as they can to raise their children in a right and Godly way but some children will still misbehave after all the Godly training they got. Anybody wey wan spoil go spoil regardless of how hard his/her parents tried. As for the disowning part, I don't think i can disown my child but will discipline him.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The father has every right to disown an adult child.
The sons in these cases are fully responsible for their actions. That's my take

  22. This is dead ass wrong. Why disown him publicly and alone?
Even in the days of old, no man takes judgement on his rebellious son alone, the elders have to be called in to decide at the civic center or village arena.

Read Deuteronomy 21-18-23 carefully. Lately, arguments bothering on sexual orientation (gays) in some families will be decided this Xmas amongst many families. I know at least 2. And brought before the Igwe's Cabinet, the elders will decide. The church is being left out because half of the Reverends are bound on questionable sexuality.

Not easy raising a family and working to till to leave huge investments for them and your first son comes home with tatoos, pierced body with earrings and his gay partner. Hugging and kissing while people shake their head in disbelief? Alùù. Abomination!

Call me a traditional lady but if you try that ish in my family, my Daddy will pull his double barrel gun with the nozzle facing your skull. While asking Mum "mu na onye di mu?"(na me and who born this boy?). You won't sleep in his compound, you wait by the fence for the Elders to arrive.

Inukwa Gay son occupying an Obi(family ancestral throne). Asikwa. Lie
    Not in Anambra State.

Some bvs here are from Ifitedunu let them explain what the Bethel did. Either he is gay or he attempted to kill his father.

    4. Come anony 11:28 I take exception that you drag down my thread and type your jargon. Keep your illiterate self off my track till you get a dictionary and read one.

For a Reverend to be "bound on questionable sexuality" means that he knows that being Gay is abnormal on all fronts but he is not permitted to condemn it publicly, let alone DISOWN someone based on it. The CHURCH does not permit him to.
It does not mean he has Questionable Sexuality. He may be married and straight. Tradition has no patience for diplomacy and church logic.

Today is a Sunday. Go and eat Jollof rice please.

Stop having misconceptions about things you haven't experienced. The funny thing is while growing up my mum never for one day worked, always a housewife, dad provided everything. All the Yoruba men Iv had around me always took care of dere family. It's on reading dis blog I hear such things.
In contrary my in laws who are even igbos from IMO. My hubby always respected my family setting. Bcos his own mum was even d provider in d house working at customs, even sending them abroad. It's like d father is just a figure head in the home. Contributes to nothing. But wetin be my own, my husband is d opposite bcos he sees what his mum went thru being almost like a single mum.

An act which seems to be only exclusive to the Igbo tribe in all of Nigeria. The truth hurts we know, even the Igbos here have acknowledged they worship and respect only money and have no respect for their parents, just ask Henry Eze, so why are you convulsing over the truth. Also if you don't like what happens in Lagos and Yoruba land get the fuck out of there, go back to your state and stay there and be proudly Ibo instead of trafficking drugs about and getting killed like rodents. Noticed you referred to yourself as Ibo, I thought the Igbos here say that no real Igbo person will refer to themselves as Ibo.
