What do you think about using hands to eat Eba and Soup (of choice)?
Well, dont bash me but i agree with her..You can never catch me using hand to eat Any food at all...LOL.
You are free to disagree but state your reasons why you think i am wrong.
I dont have any reason apart from the fact that i hate to see my hand all messed up with food and then the smell never goes away...
LOL

Stella HUG DICK... When yu use yur hand to eat, there's contentment.. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
ReplyDeleteI only use spoon when i fix nails but now i ve learnt to scoop the swallow without getting it inbetween my nails. Who cutlery epp?
DeleteI can never use cutlery to eat EBA or swallow, its a big NO!. Na hand sweet pass, if you use a flavoured handwash the smell will comot Stella.
DeleteI even dunk bread in beverage and a shame my kids have taken after it.
Nothing is as sweet as using your hand to eat swallows especially amala and ewedu!
DeleteI use to be like you stella, infact they me oyinbo. All that changed after I had my baby and she turned 6months,i offer her fufu and it's likes and I use my hand but d catch is my fingers do most of d work coz I still try to spare my palm from being messy!!

DeleteI rarely eat swallow but when I want to eat it, I use my hand
The swallow I eat are amala, wheat and occasionally pounded yam.

DeleteWhy dont oyinbos eat their chips and salsa with fork....
DeleteThere's a way you eat decently with your hands, not the way mist of our Yoruba's eat with the soup running down their hands and then they lick it all the way back up....lol
Swallow is Nigerian native food and we were trained to eat it with our hands...the trick (the way my mama taught us) is to eat with your fingers, cutting each piece of eba just enough to swallow -no extra, you then mold into a tiny ball and take with soup
Neat and decent!
No soup on your hands, definitely no soup/oil soiling your eba
#eyenAkwaIbom
Stella, do you eat sandwiches with a fork and knife?
DeleteOmolara omo ale jati jati...who cutlery epp...our forefathers didn't know what cutlery is, why try imitate the whites.

DeleteIt depends. In the comfort of my home, I can use my hands for swallows. Of course, unless I fix my nails then cutlery will be better. But if I'm out, depending on the vicinity and my mood. I use cutlery.

DeleteImmediately they enter Mcdonald, their hotdog etc na road u go see dem dey eat ham nahhh
In Nigeria just dey chew gum dey waka for road, na bad habit b dat
Mchewww
Eat with which cutlery?? Unless am mad.
ReplyDeleteWhy does she have to put "with no home training"? That's where she made a mistake.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I don't eat eba but when it comes to semo and amala, I use cutlery. I don't eat fufu too, it has a really nasty nauseating smell.
Why I use cutlery is because I feel, it's nasty putting your hand from one plate to another but some people claim its sweeter using your hand to eat 'swallow'
..basically it depends on the individual, I would have included the occasion too but I know a lady who uses her hands to eat 'swallow' no matter the occasion and this has endeared her to many people. Some people would meet her after the occasion and tell her "I like the way you weren't forming while eating" and I'm usually like who says eating with cutlery is forming??... Well, I guess different strokes for different folks.
Shut up with your over sabi grammar
DeleteWhich kan question be this..infact I pull my dress(naked mood), sit on ordinary ground , spread my legs apart and use my hand whenever I wanna devour hot okra soup with eba.You all need to see me when I'm in my okra eating business.it's a great sight to behold😆😆😆.Stella I go send you pics for your eyes only very soon.
DeleteLol aunty Stella it is bcos of the abroad that you is nau,so u are adapting to ur environment or continent lolzzz...as for me wash my hand on the water ND mould d eba ND dip it into d soup straight into my mouth dats d right way lol...eating eba with fork is like eating banana or licking orange with the kanda(lolzz all Na pidgin)still intact,HOW YOU WAN TAKE ENJOY AM???
ReplyDeleteStop the Aunty Stella ish already
DeleteAunty Stella kor uncle Korkus ni. Na your mama sister?
DeleteStop calling Stella 'aunty' you no dey hear? Or you just want to be noticed?
DeleteThis minute mummy the next Aunty. Please stop calling her Aunty. Call her SDK as the respectful boy that you is.
DeleteI hate the word "Aunty". Stella does not like it too.
Swag la fresh Av heard you nd tnx
DeleteI guess you were the person asking question on how to be noticed... Congratulations...aunty Stella ko aunty Stella ni
Deleteexcept im using my PC i use my hand anytime anyday.
ReplyDeletehow do you expect me to do justice to all those accessories inside the vegatable?
I dont like when people disrespect food.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's disrepectful to eat pounded yam with fork. Stop being disrespectful to food!
It's a local dish, let the imported dishes come with the imported cutlery and let the local dish come with the God-made cutlery.
Stick to pasta if you love the fork so much.
It's the same pain I feel when people add carrot and peas to jollof rice, it's annoying. Can't I just have it plain with the Smokey smell?
Mcheeew...I don dey vibrate.
Lol! You have spoken well. Does Stella also eat bread and soup with cutlery? You need your fingers/hands for some foods and African foods need hands,
DeletePut some respek to our African foods..😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteSee Stella, there is something inexplicable when you use that precious hands to download ur Eba with your hand, as far as it's not artificial or dirty, I will eat leaf rice with my hand till tomorrow, even if I spend 1million years for yanky, there is a feeling attached mehhhh.
ReplyDeleteI use hand to eat eba. Watin concern me
ReplyDeleteSo stella when u dey nija u dey use fork and knife eat eba. Issorit. Lemme catch my self using cutlery. Hand all the way mehnnn.
ReplyDeletebesides you'll hardly catch me eating Eba.
ReplyDeleteAmala, wheat, semo or poundo is what i eat if I'm to eat swallow.
Fufu is bae!!!
DeleteSincerely I eat my swallow with a spoon cos most times am busy with work nd enough paper work even while I eat nd also a cutlery aids me in having a spoonful soup with d 'okele'.. Also d hotness of the 'soup nd okele' hurt my fingers so I opt out for cutlery... But I don't agree with her.. Wich 1 is pple who eat with hands hve no home training.. I mean dats d proper way of eating swallow ooo..
ReplyDeleteThe hotness of the soup hurt your finger? Ajeburrer things
DeleteInanukwa @hotness
DeleteI use hand to eat eba. Watin concern me
ReplyDeleteWhy I go use spoon eat eba? Hand they pain me?
ReplyDeleteOh...in addition.
ReplyDeleteCall it hygiene or etiquette to use fork for swallow and I might not have that much of a problem but to say it's a lack of home training?
Babes, you just wanted to trend for saying that, now you have, enjoy your 2 mins fame.
Lol.Good for her
ReplyDeleteOmolara this statement showed clearly that you were not properly trained.
ReplyDeleteI will forever eat my eba with my hand.
she is the one without home training.
ReplyDeleteI will use my hand because it is an African dish.
when im out in public,i always observe table manners.so i wont be caught using my hand for Eba..
ReplyDeletebut when im home,i wash my hands well;mould the Eba very well to my satisafction, throw it up and catch it again, then dip into the soup and swallow..Thats why i enjoy eating Eba at home!! and ooohhh,i prefer Fufu to Eba..
About the smell after using your hands to eat,any good detergent can do that for you..but i always prefer eating before taking my bath;cos no matter how strong the "smell" of the fufu/Eba is,it will surely go off after using a good soap to bath
Thank you!!
@MARTINS ABOY
@Martins, for health wise, I read it's good to take your bath before eating
Delete*Larry was here*
Table manners ko, lol. Even in public pizza, burrito etc, are no respecter of cutlery.
DeleteLmao @throwing it up and catching it. I do that when i am eating fufu, mould it very well to a cylindrical shape, hold it with my left hand and be cutting small small with my right hand. My.mama go dey eye me.
DeleteNa wah oga martins. why the outdoor forming nah?
Deleteyou mean you will bath your entire body just to get rid of smell of fufu from your hands???what happened to hand wash?
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Martins how is using your hand to eat eba in public lack of table manners?
DeleteLmao @ throw it Up and catch it
DeleteAs much as I use fork while out of my home and my hands while at home I do not see any reason why she will say the pple using their hands lack home training! Gosh
ReplyDeleteWhat does home training has to do with what's up there. If you are exposed to westernization, continue with your fork. Keep adopting western cultures. "The fact remains I enjoyed my swallow when eaten with my hands than rubbish fork. Nonsense
ReplyDelete#SmartMarketer
Yimu
ReplyDeleteI like the Hausa man for one thing. He doesn't allow "civilization","exposure" and "education" compromise his culture. Let me re-phrase the question for that Omalara kid up there: why the heck should any sane person use fork to eat a purely African dish like eba? Eba is our traditional food, and it is best enjoyed when eaten with the hand. I have never eaten "swallow" with a fork, and NEVER will!
DeleteWell, not like I agree with her but I have been using spoon or fork for a very long time now to eat my swallow and damn used to it just because I am always on nails.
ReplyDeleteWe don hear you. Oya, you all should line behind Stella comment. Ass lickers.
Deleteand you had to go anonymous??
Deletecoward!
Candy idiot. Is your name yumyum ? Foolish fool.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't eat Eba,fufu etc with cutlery. I prefer to used my hands because that is what am comfortable with, sometimes when am in the midst of clients, I used them but am never comfortable and for that reason I end up leaving the food just taking a little, I am not always happy anytime it occurs.
ReplyDeleteAs for the idiot that said you must eat with fork,i know it is a stunt to gain attention, anything for attention Ratass
Stella korkus so you never used hand in eating eba even during your stay in 9ja. We hear.
ReplyDeleteIt's not about proper home training it's part of our tradition as a country and I see nothing wrong with it. Even the whites when they come over to visit sometimes they bring themselves to using their hand just to feel at home. Both ways I see nothing wrong it all lies in the world you find yourself.
Hand sure pass.
ReplyDeleteBabe should keep forming.
I can only use cutlery if am eating out.
The smell goes away if u use hand wash.
WHATEVER ROCKS ANYONES BOAT
ReplyDeleteIF ITS THE HAND,GOOD! AND IF YOU PREFER THE CUTLERY,FINE!! WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS IS "HAVE YOU EATEN"?
WE STAND FOR THE TRUTH!!
Using ur hand is sweeter any day anytime
ReplyDeleteShe must be out of her mind for saying that. She's trying to sound tush girl on SM, I'm very sure all her family still uses their hands to eat, does that me they all lack home training in her house? I hate this kind of Adeko dere people
ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
*doest that mean
Delete*Larry was here*
I prefer to eat it with my hands even in public.
ReplyDeleteI guess it feels natural and tastes sweeter...
Hehehehe!!!
i prefer hand...so that girl wey think say na lack of home training she wise pass people wey dhey use hand abi....
ReplyDeleteI prefer cutlery, but not that I don't use hands, but I like my Eba with cutlery.
DeleteIbile united... No hand sure pass
ReplyDelete"One mans meat another mans poison".
ReplyDeleteI went to a boarding school and we always ate with fork & knife.I went home on holiday and as we were about eating i picked up cutlery to eat eba and my dad said "you are not in school pls drop that".
Na so i drop cutlery wash hands and thats how i enjoy eating eba.Take me to 5 star or 17 star restaurant, i look for nearest spot to wash my hands except my host begs me not to fall hands.
Call me whatever you like, "Onye na nke ya"(to each man his own).
People who eat Eba with cutlery, biko explain how e dey sweet una, Ayam not understanding
ReplyDeleteOnly 'fuck'? I tot twas 'fuck',n spoon!
ReplyDeleteI will use my hands Except I have manicured nails.
*Side eyes* at Blackberry, Xavier thicc asked me for ur home address, shld i give?
DeleteThe satisfaction that comes with eating swallows with one's hand is indescribable. In public, I use a fork but at home, no way.
ReplyDeletePeople eat burgers, meat pie, chicken/chips/ chicken with their bare hands and will be forming I can't use my hand to eat eba, #yinmu#.
Stella suffry you hear. 'konk' naija born forming what i dont know.
ReplyDeleteEven as a kid/teenager you never used hands to eat 'swallow' right? You'v always used 'feck'! I hear you miss Germany.
Instead of saying in the abroad changed you,you are saying you can never catch me......naso! My dear blog author.
Lmao
DeleteMy sister...Have you read the comments and see how everybody suddenly uses "Forklery"?
DeleteAsslickers ehnnnn...
How many years she don use for abroad ? Those when dey born for abroad self dey use hand so kini big deal.
DeleteYinmu*
DeleteLmao...Shantelle I like you..
DeleteLet her be forming what I don't know...abegiiii
Some delicacies are not to be eaten with cutlery whether you accept it or not. We are Africans and most of our delicacies are traditional ones. I can't even imagine myself eating fufu with fork kai! I tried eating amala with fork at a wedding and I regretted choosing amala. Eating traditional dishes isn't a way of displaying how mannered and decent you are abeg.
ReplyDeleteStella so you dey chop starch with fork? Oshe mami!
The last time I checked, every country and continents has their culture and some traditions.
ReplyDeleteEating eba, amala, akpu, starch and whatever delicious soup you decided to eat it with with fork (cutlery) is an insult to the people and place where the food is originated from!
I watch a lot of Anthony Bourdaen and Andrew Zimmern, I see them visiting trying different foods and most times, they had to abide by the rules of the people(following the table manners).
There are different ways to eat different food in different places.
I hate it when I see people eat amala and soup with forks, worse is them eating starch with cutlery.
Chop kiss. You are very apt!
DeleteAll of una forming porshe all of a sudden cos y'all don start to dey see small money....i laugh una ooo kwakwakwakwa
ReplyDeleteFufu and Eba should be respected! They are traditional food and should be eaten with respect mbok lol. Home training has got nothing to do with it
Stella, what happened to scented liquid hand wash? Even Morning Fresh can do the trick -__-
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned, Fufu is the only staple food that leaves that nasty after-consumption smell if you do not wash your hands properly.
The fresh one doesnt smell bad sef. I know this from my days of working in a restaurant. It has a very nice smell
DeleteFufu no send you and your well-scented hand wash even if you emptied a whole bottle of it to wash your hands after eating. That shitty smell never goes away, it clings unto your palms like a leech till morning. I don't do handshakes anytime I eat Fufu, I go just dey smile like fool.
DeleteMiss Aboki you were a waitress before?
DeleteIkwakwakwa.
All your sins are forgiven. Ehen I for say
O yes anon 17:37. So you couldnt decode that as an end time decoder that you is? Aturu hausa.
DeleteOmolara what has eating amala with hands got to do with home training? Ooh....slave mentality.
ReplyDeleteThe length you lots will go to get attention on sm.
Chop kiss for DAT comment joor..
DeleteI'm with you Stella on this one, it jusy irritates me. Hubby don shout for me taya but I no gree, I cant use my hands and touch food just like that. Its even worse some people have long finger nails and they'll be diging them on fufu.
ReplyDeleteYinmu. Oyibo pepper
DeleteIs it your fufu?
DeleteHey. White woman welcome.
DeleteStella abeg stop that rough play! So you mean to tell me you were using cutlery for swallow when you were in Naija? Abeg this is not even up for discussion sef..
ReplyDeleteNa hand sure pass
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about using your hands to eat
In my final year in school, my friend lured me to stay using my hands to eat indomie
E make sense die
I Think it brings me more satisfaction than when I orgasm
🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
I just finished a bowl of garri and mixed okro with a spoon!! I love it piping hot and only a spoon will do!
ReplyDeleteFufu forming buttie'
DeleteWhat? I enjoy it more when I eat Semo, fufu or anything swallow with my hand. What do I need a fork for?
ReplyDeletewtf..... lemme catch myself eating with fork.. except na official , infact noting like official.... #HAND SURE N MAKE SENCE PASS.#
ReplyDeleteu need to try it..
I hope you dont eat fish too cos your mouth will smell??
ReplyDeleteI use my hands to enjoy swallow! Cos of that i dont fix my nails.
What is fork when i'm eating my precious pounded yam with white /groundnut soup? Wont feel the sweetness of the food,so whats the essence of eating it? Biko yolo!
If your hand smell, use morng fre..!!
Okbye#
i love eating swallow with my fingers, it always feels natural. but that is when i am at home tho
ReplyDeleteStella you mean even while growing up you didn't use your hand to eat swallow? I hear you.
ReplyDeleteI eat eba and amala with my hand and lick the soup well well, after all, na finger licking soup not fork licking.
if you ever catch me eating swallows with fork ,forget it i m not hungry just helping you to eat your meat or fish. I have been out of the country severally , i have attended word class seminars ,conferences within nigeria and outside ,the highest i can do to avoid scrutiny is to eat other meals apart from swallows but should i choose to ignore which i often do , i will use my hands . No apologies
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! I hardly eat amala, pounded yam or fufu, but when I do, I eat it with my hand.
DeleteI have to soften the food with my fingers and also see if there's seed, the smallest seed I find in my amala, will make me leave the food.
I can never imagine myself eating swallow with cutlery. Even white people eat amala or pounded yam with their hands (my husband included).
Your head dey there.
DeleteU won't catch me using fork to eat any swallow public or @ home, call me bush mehn I love it.thing is I won't enjoy the food, not forgetting its a cultural thing.she is speaking plenty English jur
ReplyDeleteUsing my hand to eat swallow is the truth.
ReplyDelete👍👍👍
DeleteNa lie ooo
ReplyDeleteNa hand be the koko....
So that the food will relax well inside your stomach. Lol
All the fufu in the house now go start to dey form foreign. They are yet to even see the Eba o bit start taking about fork and knife.
ReplyDeleteStella, how do eat burger?
ReplyDeleteGirl you didn't have to put that line about home training, because it doesn't have anything to do with it.
ReplyDeleteIn some parts of India, they use hand to eat rice, some don't even care if they are in public...so I don't think is lack of home training. I mean that's what one is comfortable with.
Hand all the way because is easy, except nail is involved.
Hello everyone,
ReplyDeleteFirst time here
For wetin na?..na who cutlery epp?..eating EBA or any swallow with hand is d real deal.na forming..
ReplyDeleteI live abroad and I initially taught my kids to eat Nigerian food with cutlery, but I have changed that habit. As a rule, they must now use their hands for swallow (started last summer) and when I finish cooking soup, I allow them lick the pot. Hehehe, it gives me that satisfaction of 'my mama food sweet'. And please note, I grew up in a home where we didn't struggle for anything
ReplyDeleteWhen I told my mom about this tweet, she said the girl should tell her parents they lack home training 😂😂😂, that she's not sure they use fork to eat Swallow and they didn't teach them that whilst they were growing up
ReplyDeleteIt depends on my mood but most times i use cutlery
ReplyDeleteIt's been over a year I used my hand to eat swallow
It's not about forming...I just find using a fork more convenient
But how can one use hand when the eba and soup is in the same plate?,, the food would get really messy
If I must use hand then the eba and soup must be in separate plates
Attending a boarding school made me form the habit of using a fork to eat swallow
Jee nolu ana...take several seatssssss
DeleteMessy indeed, to cut eba and pack with soup is too hard shey? Pele tie.
DeleteAnony iwe ewena gi
DeleteI'm lazy when it comes to eating swallow...fork makes it easier
Like i said before...oburo forming but habit
D food just looses it's taste..to me thougg
ReplyDeleteI went for a conference and during lunch i was eating my eba with fork and knife only for me to notice a Canadian sitting opposite me using his hands to eat Amala........ Shame nearly kill me that day, in short since that day hand all the way no matter where and with whom.
ReplyDeleteStella am sure u eat pizza 🍕, do u eat pizza 🍕 with fork n knife ... ana asiyeli
ReplyDeleteStella am sure u eat pizza 🍕, do u eat pizza 🍕 with fork n knife ... ana asiyeli‼️
ReplyDeletePizza, burger and all others i use cutlery ooooooooh..make una no vexs but na so e be...is there really need to throw insults cos of this minor post that should make us all laugh?
ReplyDeleteStella, you use burglary for Burger, for chips and chicken etc? We hear you!!
DeleteStella, haaaaaaaaaaaaa using cutlery to eat burger. E don finish, you no need to talk again. What about bread with eat, you will surely use fork too.
Delete*Larry was here*
Lol...we don't find it funny o, put some respek on our african dishes.
DeleteHow would you eat starch and owo then?
DeleteAnswer😋
Cutlery jare, my bad.
DeleteEwooo! Cutlery to eat burger? Stella you are disrespecting food mennn! Do you use fork and knife to take pap or custard too? Since everything with you must be 'cutlerized' Hehehe
DeleteOmg na hand b d koko
ReplyDeletei eat eba once in six months or even more now and that is if i find a Nigerian restaurant that i like their food,so its easier to eat with cutlery when you are out...maybe this explanation is better?LMAO
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...Mrs Korkus, what an abomination, so the Korkus kids do not eat african swallow??? Ahhhhhh, this is the height!
DeleteLMAO
I'm sure you miss that Nigerian 'han feeling' as oyinbo don sell dem lifestyle give us finish.. lemme happily guard what remains of our fathers culture. Its hand for me anyday ma
DeleteWhen u dey naija, u nor use hand chop eba?
DeleteHaba Stella! If you don't like using your hands to structure and re-arrange the bollus the way it will make sense in your stomach, na you know but please allow the korkus kids to do art work with their hands on swallow biko. Heheheh
DeleteCutlery with swallow bawo?
If she can use fork or spoon to eat starch then i will know something is not wrong with her.
ReplyDeleteEba is our LOCAL food...our ancestors didn't eat with fork & knife. Na una type dey use cutleries chop sandwich, be forming ajebo motorpark
ReplyDeleteStella eating with hand is the correct way. Even foreigners like to eat our delicacies with their hands. Well every Mallam with him own kettle.
ReplyDeleteWait, How can you even eat swallow with Cutleries as an Ibo person? Igbos that have countless number of soups abi???? Can you eat "Achara" or "Apurapu Elele" with a spoon? Imagine eating "Ogbono" with a fork. or na "Isam" in a black soup(that one where you have to suck the periwinkles when eating) you will eat with kettle spoon? That simply means soups no be your thing.
ReplyDeleteEBA AND FUFU IS NATIVE TO WEST AFRICA.EVERY MEAL HAS AN ORIGIN AND IT HAS ALWAYD BEEN EATEN WITH HANDS. THE WESTERNERS USE HANDS TO EAT THIER BURGER AND FRIES. WHY DON'T THEY USE CUTLERY FOR THEIR SANDWICH? AHA!!! IT IS BECAUSE, THEY ARE MORE COMFORTABLE WITH THE HANDS.
