  1. Why is the govt playing with our health sector like this? So because they can afford to travel abroad, should they now suffer the masses?

  7. Honestly, it is a very terrible situation. I really pity those patients who are confined on the bed. At least those of us who can use crutches have found our way out of there. When the strike/protest ends, I will continue from where I stopped.

To be fair to those nurses, they are really trying and giving their best. They pick our faeces when we defecate, same with urine. They care so deeply for us, they monitor what we eat and drink and make sure we take our drugs on time. They deserve their reward here on earth.

I remember one time I wanted to defecate and one of the nurses stood near me to raise my leg up. I sent her away and told her I do not want her to breathe in my poo. Her reply stunned me. She said, "Odukoya, na today we don dey perceive shit.... Abeg, poo make I pack this bedpan comot." I didn't know when I started laughing.

    Indeed, nursing is a calling.

  8. This is sad. A client came to our office yesterday and told us that they are on strike, they don't touch patients again but one can get a private nurse to treat their sick ones.Since that yesterday, my mind has been on our dear Oluyomi and how she is coping with her treatment there.

  17. Government should look into this before they transfer aggression to their patients by performing mass amputation on them.

  19. Barrister Oma and Yori Yori princess, awww... thanks a million for your love and care. I'm at home, left Igbobi immediately I heard of the impending strike. In fact, it was one of the nurses (God bless her soul) who told me and that was when I intensified my effort in learning how to make use of crutches.

Like I said, I'm at home, for now and when the strike is called off, I will go back. Anyway, what I really need now is physiotherapy sessions and thank God I've found one who comes to my house to perform some exercises on me. I won't lie though... Being stuck in a room on a bed is not my either of a lifestyle. But the surgeons specifically warned me not to allow the leg touch the floor. If not for the internet and our blog (SDK), I would have gone mad, literally speaking. The amount I spend on fuel though is story for another day (sighs). That is one of the things I miss at Igbobi, they always had at least 22 hours electricity every single day.
