The other night I was invited out for a night with the "girls." I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, "I promise!"

Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily. Around 3 a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckooed 3 times.

Quickly, realising my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him. (3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals 12 cuckoos = MIDNIGHT !)

The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him "MIDNIGHT"... he didn't seem pissed off in the least. Whew, I got away with that one!

Then he said "We need a new cuckoo clock." When I asked him why, he said, "Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said "oh shit" Cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another three times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.

I'm asking because cooking is a problem for me. I lack what to cook most times. Aside the fact they I hate cooking, I can't come up with things to cook. My husband is the spontaneous one in the kitchen. He can mix things up and call it one name. Now he wants food that are out of the ordinary food we eat every day. I have told him "my father is not a white man " for me to know food that are out of the ordinary . So he's been the one cooking things up, both the ones he want to use pepper and finish my destiny and others he finds a way to incorporate things that aren't needed. Although they always come out fine

Have fab mum, not all single ladies are students na; so single ladies cook abeg. I am single, not a student but also stumped on what to cook sometimes. When I am stumped, I visit certain food blogs, like that of dooney or go on pinterest. Once I see what I like, I make it. I have different timetables both oyinbo and Naija and even ones that follow a strict diet but I am not a stickler for routine and so cook what pleases me in the end. I don't envy you married women on this issue sha

My daughter was a bully when she was between 18months and 3yrs. She would pick up a cane and start flogging people older than her. She would push the younger kids and those ones would fall down and start crying, sometimes she would hit a kid for no reason.
I started scolding her, telling her only bad kids fight and that fighting is a bad habit. Sometimes I used to spank her when she bullied younger kids. Then she stopped fighting, two years down the lane, she would cry when a younger kid hits her. She would not fight back even when I'm present. She would look at me and start crying, when I ask she would tell me so and so hit her.
I did not like the new development, how can she be so lazy? I can't lock her up and prevent her from playing with other kids, what do I do? I caused it, I stopped her from fighting and now even small kids bully her. I started blaming myself. When I was like her, I used to fight back, in Primary school, even boys revered me, I knew all the karate styles that we watched in Jackie Chan movies. I fought boys and girls alike. Then, I used to wear shorts and top underneath my uniform, story for another day.... Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwa.
Anyway, I fought last when I was a teenager, I am now a gentle lady....

Back to my story, I started ordering her to fight back two weeks ago, I told her "if anyone hits you, blow the person, push the person, look at my hand, land the person a hard slap on the face like this" I demonstrated for her.. After some days, she came to me and told me a younger boy hit her and ran away, I ordered her to give him a chase next time and make sure she hits him back.

I'm happy now as I type this, my daughter is back to normal. She chases kids around now and hit them hard if they hit her. Yesterday, the younger boy(a year younger) on her case was crying loudly as a result of her 'touch', when his mum asked a another kid what transpired, the kid narrated that the boy hit my daughter and she used a book she was holding to slap his face hard... Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

I was happy when I heard it, when she was with me, I told her to 'give me five' 'chop knuckle' ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa...

Am I a bad mother for teaching her to fight back?
