Comedian Bovi's Hilarous Jokes On Celebrity Marriages Crashing Ellicit Angry Responses

Comedian Bovi during his Man on fire show, joked about the increase in the rate of how celebrity marriages crash.

He called out Banky W for misspelling the word "Marry" in his proposal to Adesua Etomi, and said
"This is just an indication of the cracks in their union and if not careful, the beginning of a woeful marriage"...

He further went on to joke about Tunde Demuren and Toolz' marriage.

''When Tonto was dating her husband, she called him Mr X,today he is her X''...

He said "All the Ts are having marital crisis, Tonto Dikeh, Tiwa Savage, Toyin Lawani, Toke Makinwa....the letter T is even more pronounced in that of Tunde and Toolz Demuren, so their own split will be worse when it happens....now it has moved on to letter M, Mercy Aigbe...Mercy Johnson, should berra hold on tight..."

RMD Says ''White hair is the new six packs''..LMAO
There is this thing with Comedians all over the World...They Joke really expensive but they are just Jokes.

I see no problem in these Jokes though....Those of you mailing me and complaining and commenting where these Jokes are posted.....Why not face the Audience laughing?

Bovi is not my favourite comedian and I no send am becos he no send me but I enjoyed the Jokes......

It is just painful that everything is a joke to them and stupid people will be laughing after paying so much to hear them. Na dem sabi.

That is why my Bishop banned any comedian from climbing the Altar of God to make jokes about christianity. Shameful Bovi. Go and repent. Your marraige too can crash before you know it. Dont take people's pain for a joke

    1. That was an expensive and a sensitive joke if u asked me. There are some things you don't make jokes with, especially when the affected are still struggling to get their lives back. It is a mockery on all grounds and shouldn't be applauded.

Then the thought of anticipating a marriage breakup for others is very distasteful. Not funny at all. Me thinks anyway 🙂

And is TOyin lawani a celebrity?🤔

      Ok bye

  7. He is still a very good comedian but some jokes are better left in the bedroom over talks with friends, family and partner.
These people they use in jokes are human too and no one enters a marriage praying for it to fail.
They should limit their jokes to societal problems and try not to hurt real people while at it.

  15. Bovi went too far on this one. Nothing is funny about this at all. I mean how could he have joked with other people's painful issues and also say such a thing about Banky's future home? Not nice at all.

  16. To think that he was amongst the people that called AY out for his joke on Tboss! SHAME!!!

  17. This is actually rude as it is people's personal life, people that are preparing to get married, he is already wishing them problems. He should not go and face his own marriage. Did it occur to him that Banky hired someone to do this and the person spelt it wrong. Who english spelling don epp? There should be a limit to everything. This isn't funny at all, but rude

  18. Bovii is a comedian and that's what they do. Which one is this oversensitivity we are showing? I doubt some of you watch American standup comedy. Watched one last week where kevin hart, snoop dog and co roasted Bieber while he was in the audience. Our comedians are better. See how Americans insult their celebs all in name of joke.

    2. I have watched it, but that's a roast, the celebs pick who should roast them on the stand. It's their choice but this right here is stupid, you can't poke a bear and cry when it comes for you. You can't say people are too sensitive because you are heartless, forgetting that no two persons are the same... Mtchew

Nigerian comedians are quite unimpressively shallow.
Whatever happened to jokes from topical issues that are actually hilarious and also elicit some sort of discomfort for being a shift from our social or religious norms?
Trevor Noah for example, his current butt of jokes has been Donald Trump but do you see how he does it?at an intellectual level by first causing roaring laughters across board then proferring solutions in a satirical way.

Eddie Griffin, Dave Chapele, etc. Even Salvador, that chubby fellow from Uganda is funnier than a bunch of Nigerian comedians.
Would rather be a couch potato for a month watching South Park than attend any of them comedy shows.

  29. I didn't watch the clip up there but from what it's written there, in as much as his intention was to make people laugh over issues, this one is highly sensitive. He doesn't even have any right to call someone's name on his joke, if Nigeria is a correct country, he could be sued for that alone.
Why should he joke out of people's predicament, he is making joke out of it and the people he is using is cringing IN hurt and remembering what they want to let go.
Bovi, owe an apology. You shouldn't use someone's issue to shine. Is there nothing else to joke about?

  33. In IBO land, if you bring wine for marriage introduction and it breaks, it is a negative sign. Though the jokes are expensive, Banky and Adesuwa shoould pray well o. Chemistry alone cannot sustain marriage.Nigerians sha, these comedians joke about dwarfs, crippled, Stammerers , deaf and dumb etc and we enjoy the jokes. Now we are angry . Hypocrites!

  39. I don't think people are hypersensitive. It's all fun and games until you become the subject of the "jokes" with below the belt punchlines. It's one thing to crack jokes about an individual but when your jokes are centred on broken marriages and extending it to newly engaged couple(s), that's going too far.

Someone made reference to foreign stand-up comedians. What makes you think the foreign audience don't call out the comedians when their jokes are in bad taste? Some even have stuff thrown at them and are "booed" off the stage. You think everybody applauds Kevin Hart or Cedric the entertainer when they go too far with their jokes? Even Steve Harvey, with his priceless facial expressions that can crack you up without him uttering a word, ‎has been called out several times for unpalatable jokes.

I remember watching the Emmy award show ‎where the host, Jimmy Kimmel cracked a joke insinuating that the late Johnnie Cochran was in hell looking up to the cast of "The people V. OJ Simpson: American crime story". The audience voiced their disapproval and he went like "oh! Too soon?", then he apologised. Comedians goof every now and then, it's not a matter of nationality. An insensitive joke is an insensitive joke, regardless of where the comedian is from.

A failed marriage has no hilarity in it, in my considered view. It's even more distasteful when the comedian "jokes" about couples who are likely to get divorced along the line, just because of a certain alphabet in their names . As beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, so hilarity lies in the ears of the listener. If you had a good laugh from his joke, good for you but don't say people reacting negatively are hypersensitive. God forbid you or someone you care about is going through a public divorce and another comedian decides to use you as the butt of his jokes, I bet the humour will suddenly be lost in translation.‎

Kissses to you bv Ronalda!having personally gone through a bitter marital experience myself, I won't find it funny if someone had said its my fault or wish to be in this position, but you know not how people are, because they are not the one in the situation, they think they know how it feels, those people he joked about their failed marriages must have tried all they could to make it work because if what people would say,but they couldn't n had to part ways,so its a very sensitive issue.Eni ijaoba, lounperae lokunrin.
