EvansGATE -Kidnap Kingpin Talks About Being A Former Armed Robber And Shows Proof.

Suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike (aka Evans) has confessed that the gunshot scar on his shoulder came from the injury he sustained during a 2006 bank robbery in Lagos.

This is contrary to his earlier claim that he got the injury during a fracas following a drug business in South Africa in 2007.

Evans, who was confronted with a newspaper interview that indicated the scar was as a result of a gun duel between him and his gang members at the National Theatre in Surulere, Lagos Mainland, admitted that he lied earlier.

According to the suspect, he and his gang members robbed a bank in 2006. While sharing the loot, there was a disagreement, which led to a fight.

He admitted that they started shooting themselves, adding that many of the robbers died. He was seriously injured and abandoned by the others.

The kingpin also admitted that he was arrested by the police, adding that he and two others were transferred to the Imo State Police Command, where they were released.

The officer in charge of the Inspector General of Police’ (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said: “Evans was confronted with the interview on Sunday and he admitted that the bullet wounds are from disagreement over sharing of loot after bank robbery in Lagos in 2006. They shot one another and many gang members died while Evans survived with bullet wounds.”

A Superintendent of Police with the Band section of the Police College in Lagos, simply identified as Tina, reportedly sought to get the case being put together against Evans after the bank robbery dropped. Her attempt was rebuffed.

She reportedly travelled to Owerri from where a report was sent requesting the transfer of Evans to the command because of another case he was involved in, which they claimed was under investigation.

The kingpin was quietly released in Owerri. Tina is believed to be related to Evans’ mother.

The Nation gathered that the police were out to fish out all those who participated in the 2006 release of Evans and two of his gang members. They are to be prosecuted.

It was also learnt that the police have begun a manhunt for another soldier said to be a member of Evans’ gang.

The soldier whose identity is yet to be revealed, it was gathered, was attached to one of the Army formations in Lagos.

A source said the police had the soldier’s names and pictures, adding that they would leave no stone unturned in arresting him.

“He should have been arrested on Saturday night but we believe he might have gone into hiding after his colleague, Victor Chukwunonso, was caught. That was why the police high command did not want to release information on the arrest of Chukwunonso because there are so many others being investigated.

“But I know he would be caught. Our bosses will simply approach army authorities with evidence and request that he be handed over to the police.

“It is true that they have started looking for that Tina woman and many other officers who were serving at the Imo State Command at that time that Evans was released. So many heads will roll in this matter.”

    5. Imagine that!
He was quietly released in 2006.
      Did he change? No.
      Instead he became more notorious.
Yet his father and some others are clamouring for his release bla bla.
A leopard never changes it's spots. If Evans gets released again, it will be a bloody massacre. He will spare none.

  3. To be honest I'm tired of seeing stories of this man and his exploits.
Authorities should do the needful or at this point do a "keeping up with Evans" station.
Gosh! This country sickens me. That's how reverend King is still alive after the atrocious things he did.

Will the said Tina read this and stay for you people to come get her?
I say this Evans saga is going to rope people in. Corruption is high places.

Atleast Evans is beginning to look like someone in Jail... That is a good start!

    1. That's exactly the problem, Iphie,  my Buttercup! It appears the authorities are super excited to redeem their image of ineptitude, they want to rub it in that they are competent in fighting crime. So they go-a-circulating information. Unbeknownst to‎ them, this strategy actually showcases how little they know about gathering and protecting intelligence report.

This saga is becoming a circus!...scratch that, this is way beyond the razzmatazz of a circus! They've released way too much info, in my opinion. They forget one of the most effective strategies in any combat is the element of surprise.‎ How can they lavishly dish out sensitive information and not expect his accomplices and co-conspirators to use same to their advantage? They are even endangering the life of this Evans character. Some people in the corridors of power, whom are in some way linked to his operations can arranged for him to be silenced permanently.

These press releases or whatever they are, are giving Evans exactly what he wants. He seems to have a craze for notoriety because I cannot, for the life of me, understand why a stone cold hardened criminal will be singing like an overfed canary! I thought they mentioned something about an oath of secrecy? Or was he exempted, being the "big poppa" of the gang and all? At any rate, it appears that the police are saying way more than Evans himself , ergo, they can't seem to conclude investigations timeously and drag his a** to court (excuse my French)‎. If they had kept certain information under wraps, they would have been done with investigations by now and Evans would have been charged to court.

Listen brethren, it's no longer abt Evans, this one is convicted already, all calls made and received from any of this 126 SIM cards is being investigated. Evans is not giving out vital information as people think but police is digging deep. Kudos to naija police on this matter.

    1. I understand your point of view, But the Presidency has left us with assumptions since this year.

If they can shroud the President's health and whereabout in secrecy not minding what we think about them.. ofcourse they can investigate, make arrests and grant a massive press conference within weeks.

Letting us know so we think they are working does not in anyway validate this, neither will it make us change our minds about the Nigerian Police force until they do a major sweep of the bad eggs.
