Niger Delta communities hail NDDC for intervention projects

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been commended for its various intervention projects across the Niger Delta region.

In a joint statement signed by twenty members of the Niger Delta Volunteer for Peace and Development, representing Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta communities in Imo State, the group highlighted "the quick response of the NDDC in reconstructing the access road to ADAPALM via the ADAPALM-Ebekwuru road, as well as the reconstruction of the access road to the famous Oguta Lake Motel Resort and access road from Uli (Onitsha-Owerri Expressway) to Osemoto."

The group stated: “Today, NDDC has commenced emergency reconstruction of the ADAPALM-Ebekwuru road in Egbema. The Board and Management of NDDC have clearly demonstrated to our people that change has really come to oil producing communities.

"Our people, the young , the old, the weak, the strong, our traditional rulers are all happy with the progress, quality of work and the marked determination of NDDC to right the numerous wrongs of abandonment that have been meted to us as oil producing communities.”

The communities noted that the reconstruction of the access will make the resuscitation of ADAPALM easier and requested that the NDDC set targets of improvement in health, education, agriculture and social welfare.

According to them, the current Board and Management of the NDDC has proven that change has indeed come to the oil producing communities.

They said: “We are happy to report that through the instrumentality of the present Board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, you have delivered what you promised and produced what you proposed. Our morning is already here and the pendulum in our communities now swings from despair to hope, from pain to possibilities and from darkness to light.”

  3. WE will soon arrange a crowd to protest in the UK and another at the EFCC office, for them to investigate why they haven't paid their students. They will hear from us next week.
