Gov Wike Shuts Down Novotel Hotel in Port Harcourt.

Novotel hotel;a four star hotel with 117 rooms located In Port Harcourt, has been shut down by the Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike and its certificate of occupancy revoked.

Visiting the premises of the hotel,Nyesome Wine described the hotel as "a den for political fraudsters" adding that he will not tolerate such insecurity and instability.

This is coming after his recent outburst with former governor Rotimi Amaechi and many believe this is just Wike's way of possibly destroying what is left of Amaechi's career and reputation

A former commissioner of information in the state,Austin Tam George expresses disappointment over the governors action adding that "if a business premises is suspected or established to be a crime scene ,the police, acting on a court order, could move in to take control. He further says that" it is extra ordinary for a state governor to revoke the certificate of occupancy of a business, simply because opposition politicians lodged there.

Novotel hotel is a four star hotel allegedly believed to have been used by former governor Rotimi and his associates to rig the elections.

  6. So the shutting down of the hotel is politically motivated. Hmm, when Nigeria public servants learn to keep their personal ambition out of public interest, politics will become a mature gain.
Did he even think of that he just closed down what will bring revenue to the state, the unemployments it will cause and the fact that the hotel lying unused is wasting space and resources.
Politics in Nigeria is just childish. Very childish! Grown men bantering like kids, even kids won't do some of this things they are doing.
He should continue, the cycle keeps going. Patience-Amaechi-Jonathan-Wike and Adol Peterside-Wike.
Come 2019, thats when all these malice will start back firing on the people #sighs

  9. Wike should be ashamed.
How on earth can you render hunderds of people jobless because you want to fight your opponrnt?
If any neferous activity is going on there, it is not in the duty of the governor to shut it down without investigation of the police.
Infact, Novotel should sue his ass. Imagine the revenue lost so far, families and contractors going hungry already.
    This is wrong
