Saturday Breakfast And Lunch Post

Today's breakfast inspiration is a classic British fry-up comprising of sausages, bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast.

For a full English breakfast, add some baked beans, hash browns and black pudding. The great thing about having such a protein-rich breakfast is that it keeps you full for long, hence eliminating the urge to nibble before lunchtime.

However, if you are really calorie conscious, you can opt for a 'grill-up' instead; grill the sausages, bacon strips, mushrooms, tomatoes, fry the eggs with just a few drops of oil and replace the white toast with whole wheat toast.
Whichever way you choose to go, don't go overboard, moderation is key!

And for lunch, how about some ogbono and egusi soup to go with your choice of swallow?

If you haven't tried this egusi and ogbono combo, you're definitely missing out. It's made just like regular egusi soup but with some ground ogbono added to the mix. The outcome is mindblowingly good. Try it and thank me later.

Have a great weekend!

    5. Please help me before I go crazy.
I am a newly married woman with a baby, before we got married I knew my hubby to like women, never knew he was a chronic womanizer.
Now I'm seeing his real self that anytime I go through his phone he has a new contact or a girl to hang out with for that day... I have quarrelled, fought, made trouble that now I'm being tagged a trouble woman that I never was o... Now there this old show lady he's been sleeping with, I got to know through his phone and I confronted her , this lady swore with everything that she isn't sleeping with my hubby, I told her I have evidence, she kept denying... Mind you I go through my husband phone without his knowledge so he doesn't know I have his password. So I don't want to show the lady and my hubby the message I read about them sleeping with each other instead I kept telling her someone gave me the info and they believed me. I have warned her to stop seeing my hubby or to even stop taking his calls but she won't listen... Now I am tired of making trouble, I want to concentrate on my daughter but the thought of the messages I saw and the fact that they still talk won't let me. This morning I checked the phone again and u saw that my hubby sent her some money yesterday and she told my hubby to delete all the messages so I won't see them if I get the opportunity of checking his phone. Now I'm confused, should I bring the issue up again cos now I see she doesn't want to let him be instead she's asking him for money.

    6. @OSNAC....I don't like my Egusi having that draw draw mouth feel.

Even when grinding my egusi in the market, I always make sure it's not the same blender used to grind Ogbono..lol

    7. Madam snoop continue snooping until
You have HBP and another woman will take care of your baby.
Either you confront your hubby or pretend like nothing is happening and take care of your child. Ensure he provides all your need and stop having sex with him. When he ask why you tell him your mind. Stop showing your insecurities to people, leave the women allow and confront your husband if need be.

Preparing jolly for rice today with the turkey sauce I had in freezer.
Lamb ribs barbecue will go with it later.

Preparing egusi vegetable soup too with goat meat (not with odour though, that can only be found in Nigeria 🇳🇬) dried cat fish, meluza, tripe and cow leg.

Am I the only one that add butter leaf 🍃 to almost every soup? I just can't do without bitter leaves in my soup, whether it's egusi, ogbono, okro even ewedu and some other eastern soups.

Work hard, eat good and healthy 🍲.

The food combo is what those construction workers eat especially Julius Berger in Ijora because when I was small I followed my uncle wife sell in her canteen in Ijora and that is what they love.

  28. Mrs Roma, I sent my WhatsApp number to SDK hoping she'll forward to you since last week Saturday.
please send a mail to her she'll forward you my number and gmail account. Many thanks.

Bitter leaf in ewedu??? How do you prepare it: cook with the ewedu from scratch or add up after you've finished cooking.

Love jollof rice especially when served with salad .

I like the break fast recipe but I prefer my egusi and ogbono cooked separately and later served side by side in same plate.

Anyone on tips to get the best of your bitter leaf (it can be very bitter in soups a times)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Very dry bitter is the best for me. It has a different taste from the other you pluck, wash and use. Parboil the bitter leaf or soak in hot water for a while. Then wash with cold water taste it if its still bitter keep washing till u get desired taste.
