The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in the state, Alhaji Ladan Baba, disclosed this on Thursdayin an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the passing out of the Batch ‘B’ stream one corps members posted to the state.
“Eight out of the 21 corps members are from the Stream one, 13 of them are from the Stream 2 while 10 corps members would repeat few weeks or months.
“On a sad note, we lost a male and a female corps members, Shuaibu Yahuza from Bauchi State and Happiness Emmanuel from Enugu State, both of the Stream 1,” he said.
He explained that the affected corps members were punished for either absconding from their places of primary assignment or they were absent for more than three months without permission or any concrete reason.

ReplyDeleteI remember when I was about to collect my Nysc certificate. I was a ghost corps member thru out the one year. As the woman sharing the certificate to all passing out corps members got to last 2 certificates remaining in her hand and we were 3 corps members left.
DeleteAlready in my mind, I thought "this people don get me". She called another name but it was not me. Myself and the last guy began to exchange glance. Gbege wan sele today. As the woman just called the last name and mentioned Ademola Mic.... I snatched it from ther hand. Lol. I was very apy.
The last guy was already worried and telling the woman that he had over 70% CDS attendance bla bla...
The woman said that was all she came with, bt upon closer look into the big brown envelope, she came with the certificates, she found the last one!
If na me be the last guy ehn, I go don faint

ReplyDeleteYes without pay it happened to some people during my time in portharcourt kai its really painful and annoying. I am sure the corp members were not at their place of primary assignment when ZI or LI visited.

ReplyDeleteYes o @stella,a Neigbour of mine stream 1 also got extension because he was absense for 3 good months.We warned him about how his been non challant towards his ppa and CDs but he said he will settled with money,his certificate was not given to him yesterday. Service continues without pay for him.
