Dasuki Says He Can’t Remember Details Of The N400 Million He Gave To Metuh

The detained former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, told the Federal High Court in Abuja, that he could no long remember the details of the N400m which he gave to a former National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in 2014.

It is the first time Dasuki‎ would be physically asked questions relating to his alleged diversion of funds meant for arms procurement into presidential campaigns of the then ruling PDP in 2015. Led in evidence by Metuh’s lawyer‎, Mr. Emeka Etiaba (SAN), Dasuki said he could not remember the details of the payment of N400m, which is part of the subjects of the charges instituted against Metuh.

When asked to give the details about the payment, Dasuki said, “That will be very difficult for me to give any details of the money paid to Chief Olisa Metuh and the second defendant (Destra Investment Limited) without reference to my records. Three years is a long time.

Asked when he could have access to his records, Dasuki said, “I have stated earlier that I have been in custody for two years. As soon as authorities decide to obey the subsisting court orders.

I have four bail court orders and an ECOWAS Court ruling. When they release me, I can go through the records. That is when I will be able to give a timeline. As long as I am in detention, the answer is I don’t know."

*We are talking about N400m, not N400! And he is now having selective amnesia.

  3. So, if it's 400m??
He's right. How will he remember the details of the money if he doesn't go thru his records and statement of account. When money is being disbursed you think you register it in your head?? You don't. You just know that the money you had has finished ..

Holding him for 2yrs has not done them any good, has it?? If they had granted him bail like others got bailed, the cause wouldn't be at this point nor as he won't have any excuse ..

  4. Stella, he clearly stated that he needs to leave detention and check the RECORDS to be able to give details.
His a humanbeing and not a machine, how do you expect him to have details of money they chopped and cleaned mouth 3years ago?

I dislike Dasuki and pray he gets punished for all his crimes but it must be done the right way and through the right channels. You can't ignore 4 bail court orders and still live someone in detention..

Besides, Maina chopped 100billion Naira(1million percent more than Dasuki) yet this administration rewarded him with a top position for reasons best known to them.

PS:- Am neither pdp nor Apc, am just a concerned, critical thinking and innovative Nigerian youth.

  5. Stella what do you mean by selective amnesia? He didn't deal with chief Metuh alone so it will be difficult for him to give an account of the transaction.. 400million is no biggie for politicians, let Pharoh obey court order and try him properly than to incarcerate him all in the bid to get revenge.. Metuh on the other hand is a sell out

  6. It's only in Nigeria that court will grant someone bail and he will still be detained. He has a record, they should bail him so that he will produce a solution. But this clueless government won't ever use their brain. Misplacing priorities all the time.

  7. After two years in custody and the trauma that comes along with it, no one should blame him if he says he's unable to recall details of that transaction or any other.
And like he mentioned there are several subsisting call rulings granting him bail but Buhari's undemocratic/uncivil administration would not.
