Federal Executive Council Approves The Establishment Of Six New Private Universities

The Federal Executive Council has approved the establishment of six new private Universities in Nigeria.




This is part of steps taken to enable National Universities Commission (NUC) ensure maximum supervision in order to maintain required standards. The decision was reached at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.


The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu at the end of the meeting which was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. He listed the newly-approved private universities to include:


1. Admiralty University, Ibusa, Delta State
2. Spiritan University, Nneochi, Abia.
3. Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan.
4. Pamo University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt.
5. Atiba University, Oyo State

6. Eko University of Medical and Health Sciences, Lagos.

    1. I don't see anything wrong with that. Infact he should be applauded . Him and Chimaroke are the only former governors with investments in Nigeria especially in education. Instead of investing in other people's country's let's have them here.

  3. As public universities have refused to give their selves brain. Private universities have up their game. So therefore establishing more private universities is definitely a welcomed idea.
    Take oau for instance, strike is now a regular something even thunder dey learn how to strike from them...
