President Buhari Departs To Ghana For Her 61st Independence Anniversary

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday depart for Accra, Ghana to attend the country’s 61st independence anniversary scheduled for Tuesday, March 6th.

According to a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President is the only foreign leader invited to the event holding at the Independence Square .....

The statement read, “It is noteworthy that the President is the only foreign leader invited to the historic event as the Special Guest of Honour. Similarly, other than his host, President Nana Akufo-Addo, the Nigerian leader is the only foreign guest scheduled to address the august gathering. President Buhari will use the unique opportunity to reaffirm the long-standing warm relations between the peoples and governments of both brotherly nations. He will also underscore Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening the bilateral ties in furtherance of democracy, good governance and overall development not only in the West African sub-region but also the African continent.

The President and members of his delegation which include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, will return to Abuja after the celebrations on Tuesday.

  2. Come back home and perform your duties. Have they ever seen the President of The United States travel to England to celebrate anything?? No need spending money just to go celebrate Independence anniversary half of the populace live in abject poverty. This PMB don change well well. He criticized government officials going abroad for medical but him and his son are recipients of foreign medical expertise. The poor cannot even afford to go to the teaching hospitals or private clinics.
