Ambode’s Wife Fails To Change Tinubu’s Mind Over 2nd Term Bid

A last-minute effort by the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Bolanle Ambode, to save her husband’s job was said to have hit a brick wall on Tuesday.

It was gathered that Bolanle, who followed Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to Osun State on Monday for the Tuesday’s All Progressives Congress’ mega rally for the state governorship candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, waylaid the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and tried to pacify him to change his mind.

Sources told our correspondents that her efforts did not yield any result as Tinubu was said to have “received her cordially and joked with her.”

“At a point, she became emotional despite the fact that many party leaders were there. But Asiwaju (Tinubu) did not give her the answer she desired. He merely treated her with courtesy,” one of the sources said.

The governor and Tinubu have been in the news in the past few days over the second term bid of Ambode.

Tinubu had refused to back Ambode’s second term ambition despite pleas by notable people in the state and the country.

Instead, the Tinubu-led Mandate Movement in the Lagos APC had backed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who obtained his form last Tuesday.

The chairmen of the 57 councils had also declared support for Sanwo-Olu.

Sawo-Olu, a former commissioner in the state on Sunday formally declared his intention to vie for the Lagos State governorship ticket of the APC, promising to restore the glory of the state.

Notable APC leaders in the state, who were either allies of Tinubu or his followers, were at the declaration.

    1. He should rest already. You see that's one thing with this country, you have ruled why not give another person opportunity to rule.
This country is a huge mess.
All this kind of people needs to be flushed out of the system.

  2. Nigeria is a mess, Tinubu is so important that he calls the shot on who ‘can’ be governor in Lagos state and this isn’t even about the party he belongs to. All I know is Lagos state needs a different party to take control of its affairs because this Ambode tenure has done nothing.

Increasing taxes, toll fares to fund his Quilox lifestyle. Meanwhile, Lagos roads are iin terrible states with potholes everywhere. Spend a whole day plying Lagos roads without a firm bra and your breasts would suffer for it. It’s not even November yet when Christmas shopping starts but small drops of rain and traffic takes over. Security nko? Chai I’m so looking forward to leaving Nigeria. I didn’t think I’d ever get to that point when I’d want to leave but nna ehn Nigeria is killing it’s youths.

  5. Ambode and his wife should seek God's face first before anything.... this was exactly how people begged him when both of them disgraced the chaplain of the chapel of the christ the light, alausa simply because he didnt give her communion before any other church member on that particular sunday. I am sure they have forgotten that episode. By monday they had served the chaplain sack letter and before anybody could wade in their people had gone to the quaters to throw his things out and nothing happened. Carry ur cross abeg

    2. Na real karma? Give d Priest 12 or 24 hrs to pack out of government quarters? Una get time to start packing. Una dey forgive before wen Una want forgiveness

    3. Communion? I thought they said it was anointing service that she was angry that they didn’t give her preferential treatment as the wife of the governor? By attending to her before every other person. Anyway whichever one is the case she sha did not behave well one bit.

We all have to be careful how we treat people, no matter who they may be. If not for some church members that chaplain would have been homeless despite all the pleas that people made to Ambode and his wife. But no,they became the pharaoh suddenly.

So now she can actually travel to Osun State to beg Tinubu ‘ who treated her with just normal courtesy’ eekwa?

Truly this life is a pot of beans. E go everly ‘done’. And btw, no one says they must spend another 4yrs in power. They should give way for new candidates to experience it too.

  6. Ambode is a goner. One man shouldn't be allowed to have such power! Power to hand pick a governor of a state like Lagos. Let whoever will bring the needed change in Lagos win

    1. No dear you are the fool. Ambode is daily short changing lagosians. Look how dirty Lagos is just because of his personal greed. The money he has siphoned through cronies and inflated contracts alone na die.dont comment on what you don't even know. Truth is as it stands now, even if tunubu stands with ambode, both of them will be disgraced. Read, ask questions and find out facts before commenting on issues.

Tinubu's monopoly in Lagos is not healthy but in this Ambode's issue, who wants him back? He did a LOT OF things wrong!

  14. Asiwaju or no Asiwaju, Ambode isn't coming back! He has done absolutely nothing for Lagos state! Is this the Lagos state Fashola left?! The only thing Ambode did in 31/2 years is commission a bus terminal? A mega city? Is this Ondo state? Pot holes everywhere! Refuse everywhere! Tankers and trailers all over from apapa to fadeyi to mile2 to agboju! Is this the same Lagos state we knew? Ambode dead face with a dead brain ur time is up! Same way you witch hunted Fashola is how we will make sure you vacate that office! Karma is best served iced cold! Best part of this is Fashola didn't have to lift a finger for God to defend him!
As for Asiwaju it serves you right! You put your puppy in power (Ambode) so that he could do ur bidding but he chinned you! Everyone warned you but you and Oba Akiolu kept shouting Ambo! Ambo! Ambo! Sho de ti de nisin abi? Oju gbogbo yin ti jaa!

    1. Not good enough. Didnt measure up to Lagos standard. Seems to have a problem prioritizing. Potholes everywhere. Security challenges, refuse heaps everywhere....it is bad. He was busy spending so much on building world class bus terminals and rebuilding the bus stop al6ready done by fashion. Fashola's shoes are not easy to fill.

  17. Hmmm! I really pity Ambode but truth be told, this Bolanle was the beginning of his downfall per the sacked clergy matter. Yoruba's always say " ti aye ba n ye ni, ka ma sora" It was same way there was an uproar on the sacked clergy matter and people talked but you guys did not rescind your decision. Now,you are busy running from pillar to post seeking for mercy. The same mercy you refused to show others when they were begging you! It's a clear case of what you sow you reap. Moral of this is be good to people when you are up there because they are the same people you meet when you are coming down.

  18. First of, for an individual to wield so much power over the governorship of a state clearly shows one's vote doesn't really count. Then again, remembering the incident of Alausa Chapel between madam first lady and chaplain, one would say indeed the law of karma is at work. It is well with all of us..smh

  19. Ambode is a loser. Why not fight Tinubu to a standstill with state resources. He is cheapening the office of the governor. He should have cut Tinubu to size since last year. He waited too late
