MRS DEES CORNER

THE DOCTRINE OF RESTITUTION

I've heard of some Pentecostal churches who are for restitution and affirm that it is the only way to show genuine repentance. Even though I am not against it, I am not entirely in support of it. It's a good thing to make amends and right our wrongs, but the question I always ask is; can we truly correct all the mistakes we've made? If it's impossible to achieve this feat, what is the essence of starting what we can't finish?

I remember a well known pastor preaching that if you have gained your wealth illegally, you must forfeit them to the authority or rightful owners, the one who had more than one wife prior to his conversion must divorce the others and stick to the first alone regardless of how much it must hurt the other wives and their children. I am not a supporter of polygamy, but if a man has made this mistake, why worsen it by separating him from his family in the name of repentance? He should be allowed to live with them and deal with the consequences.

In the case of a person who used sorcery to kill people and their is no physical link whatsoever, how can such a person restitute? Even if the person is brave enough to confess to the family of her/his victims, it's very possible she/he will be lynched. The Bible has made it clear that whatsoever a man sows, he will reap. Restitution to an extent is like punishing yourself before the real judgement comes. I feel it is using your blood to atone for your sins when Christ has already paid the price on the cross.

What's your take on this?

Let me read what others have to say on this....

BABY ISH

Hello Stella.

I need your advice/help on something please...my 18 months old son is always playing with his pee pee...he is always tugging at it, or lifting up his shots or diaper just to play with it and at the same time sucking his lips. It is now so bad and embarrassing...he does it anytime he is by himself especially when he isn't putting on diaper. I have scolded him, remove his hand and even flogged him...but he just goes right back to it within minutes. And it's just I and my husband at home, not like he has seen someone doing it. I don't know what to do...i am always sad whenever I see him doing it. Pls advice me on what to do plz...is it a common thing amongst boy children? Thank you.

*I dont know why he does that,my Boys never did but i have heard of others who this happened to.....The trick is to distract him and never let him idle....

please stop beating a little child of this age,its heart breaking because you are causing more damage than you think!!!...so upsetting

VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THIS

Hi Stella,

I can't exactly pin-point what makes me come to your blog at least 10 times daily. Maybe it's the way u put your write-up after each posts or the daily educative/entertaining/inspirational posts, there's never time to read newspaper or watch news on TV these days... your blog keeps me updated on things. So yes, I I've been an ardent reader and a fan since my brother introduced me to wedding night brouhaha and meeting point years ago. Keep up the good work ma.

Now to my story....I was an addicted gambler(I dunno if I should use past tense or present tense here because the last time I gambled was over 4months ago) This has really ruined my life so far. I started gambling about 3months after I got my job 3 years ago. It first started small small until a friend of a friend won big. Then things got out of hand pretty fast. I moved in with a family friend when I got the job because my parents stay far away. The plan was to win big, start a small business that will give me more income, get a place of my own and start having my own things. I should have sticked to saving religiously the slow but steady way to grow but no,I was looking for a short cut.

I gamble only online and only on livebets so within minutes money drains real fast. When my little savings finished, I started borrowing from friends/family/colleagues anyone around. My salary finishes within days and I always end up borrowing for upkeep and to gamble more. This got really serious because I owe every single person around me money and they actually don't know what I spend money on. It baffles them...most think I actually have if but I don't want to spend. The worst started January 2017 when my salary finished on payday before I got home (staking 10k per bet in live game is the fastest way to death). I had to apply for loan to sort people that I'm owing and to gamble more( hoping the next bet will be the big win).

I've collected loan 3 different times since then and I can't account for all these funds. It dawned on me that I must stop the day I had dispense error of the last 2k in my account at the ATM(access bank failed me) and I called over 10 different people asking for 1k or just 500 as Tfare to reach home. No one could borrow me that low and I don't actually blame anyone of them. It's either I'm still owing the person for a long overdue debt or I have an history of overdelayed debt with the person. I trekked for almost 3hrs before I got home after a long work day. I had concluded in my mind that day that I must stop. It's slightly over 4months now and I still get the urge every day to gamble, maybe this time I will win. Have u ever been an addict of something? You will know it takes only the grace of God to stop.

May the Lord Almighty not let us all be addicted to something killing. It's harder with no one to talk to about this problem (not that I'm actually the outspoken type though). No one to be the support system. Many days passes now where I have to fast.. not bcos I want to but bcos I have no choice. I just know in my mind that if I don't want to die miserably alone at a very young age, depressed, with high BP, I have to stop. It's over 4 months now and I pray I get the strength to prevail in this.Mostly I watch series movies or hit the gym or read up on anything online or just sleep... anything that takes my time but not my money.

Gambling is terribly bad. It's like quicksand...the more you try to fight your way out,the deeper in debt you go. It never pays(you might win few thousands today but you will surely lose more than that later. It waste time (time meant to do productive things are used up on monitoring Livescore). You will be lonely( all friends are now avoiding...no one wants a parasitic friend)Depression sets in,many sleepless nights with "had I know" thoughts, devilish thoughts comes to mind (I work in a financial institution, fraud comes to mind....wat if I get caught? Wat if I go to jail?) Then suicidal thoughts comes to mind, should I end it all? My mother won't survive the shock. God please be my strength. I pray about these things now.

If I pay my monthly 38k loan repayment, remove t-fare and little feeding and pay the next person on my list of creditors, by January 2020( I will be free of debts). Imagine getting ready for a new year and not a kobo of your earnings in 2019 is actually yours all through the year. Very sad! I just pray I don't derail.

This country is hard. Plenty youth that wants to succeed. Please let them know that there is no shortcuts to that. Every seconds, someone somewhere is gambling. Kindly let them know before they get addicted. Government doesn't even care about the damage it's causing. This year alone before I stopped i've lost over 1.5million to gambling.Seems like a small money to some but for someone earning way less than 100k a month... it's definitely not.

This Xmas has to be the worst Xmas ever. Shame wouldn't even let me travel home because I cant even get small gifts for my folks or the people I'm living with. All sort of devilish thoughts in my head right now.

I really don't wish this kind of situation for my enemy. I just want to share my story. I've actually sent this anonymously to 1 or 2 people to no avail.

KINDLY HIDE MY IDENTITY IF YOU DECIDE TO SHARE.

Some people will say this is greed, I brought this upon myself but my prayer to all is that "may we or any of our loved once never be addicted to something terribly".

Thank you, God bless and happy new year in advance
Kind Regards

*Hmmmmmmmm....I hope someone learns from this!!!

  3. One girl sneaked out from her mom on Christmas day to answer to the text from her boyfriend while inside the Church. After service, mama went home thinking that daughter was staying behind for the "singles meet" and visiting a lady in the church that will be wedding the next day.
The next phone call mother got was that she should come to the hospital to identify a corpse.
Lo and behold it was her daughter's corpse. Brought in by a boy who introduced himself as a "good
samaritan who found her bleeding on a bus bla bla bla". It appears as if the guyman mixed something in the Christmas wine they drank to kill his baby in the girls womb but ended up killing both. Till this moment, nobody knows who the boy is.

  4. When God said let there be light, the earth was dark, without form, like a black hole. God didn’t check the circumstances to see if it was possible. He didn’t have experts analyze it to see if they thought it could happen. He simply spoke. When God commanded light, it came at 186,000 miles per second. All the circumstances can be against you. The experts may say, “You’ll never be successful; you’ll never get well.” But we serve a supernatural God. When He commands the blessing, all the forces of darkness cannot stop Him. JoelOsteen

  8. On Restitution:

The pastor that Ms Dee mentioned is wrong. Zacheaus decided of his own volition to do restitution on STOLEN FUNDS/money obtained by fraud. In no other place in the scriptures did Jesus or his apostles teach that one should restitute ones wives. In fact, each person is encouraged to remain in the situation in which they were when called. Look at scripture:

1 Corinthians 7:20Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them.
21Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so. 22For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave. 23You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings. 24Brothers and sisters, each person, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation they were in when God called them.

I had to read the scriptures again from KJV & the Message translations and all I can say for now is we really need to read & have a personal understanding of God's word for ourselves and not just swallow every doctrine of men. Let's be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11.

madam the Bible recommends restitution however not on the detriment of you salvation. whatever put a weight on your salvation is not of God cos the Bible said his laws are not burdensome. Money became like paper to me. I just started working o but money became like paper. Transfering 50k and above became nothing to me.This is someone that earns less than 80k o. I have never experienced that level of greed before in my life. I don't know if it's a spirit or something. I was thinking before the year runs out I will make like 1 or 2 m but for where. I joined MMM late anyways. I practically lost my savings . It was not funny. This is someone that advises other people not to venture into something like this going into such. I was disappointed in myself. Well after loosing money, my eyes became clear. I learnt my lesson the hardest way possible and started afresh. I thank God for extraordinary strength. I thank God for where I am today and where I am going. Please my people do away with gambling of any sort. Save the normal way or venture into business. It is well with us all

Once you have paid them, you have to write to them to let them know why you delayed in paying and ask for their forgiveness.

  44. That lady waiting for your spouse's family to call you, if na my family, u go wait tire. My hubby does not understand how my siblings and I don't call each other frequently and we are tight knit. We speak to each maybe once in a month or two months, but we are so close to each other and could die for each other. I may not speak with my mum in two months but the bond is so great. My hubby speaks to his family every week and they are not close, he admires the bond in my family and wonders how we do it. His family has come to accept me because I hardly call them
