John Dumelo shocked Ghanaians to the core when he got married to Gifty Mawunya Nkornu on 12th May 2018.
The two however welcomed their first child, John Dumelo Junior six months after their unexpected marriage.
There were rumors after the wedding of how John had jilted one Frances, who happens to be the cousin of his colleague actor James Gardiner.
Taking his turn on the Yvonne Okoro’s cooking show ‘Dining with Cooks and Braggarts’
John opened up about how his wife became pregnant and his marriage.
According to the aspiring politician, his wife’s pregnancy just happened because he didn’t plan for it.
John further admitted on the show that, he was dating James Gardiner’s cousin, Frances before meeting his wife.
Detailing his relationship with Gifty Mawunya now Mrs Dumelo, he said that he knew her for a couple of years and they were just friends because Gifty was also dating somebody else by then.
The prolific actor did not, however, mention if he broke up with Frances before starting any relationship with Gifty but he stated that “things just did not go on well”.
Speaking about his marriage which came as a surprise to dozens of his fans and with reports that he never informed his ex of his the upcoming nuptials, John said that he actually informed Frances before tying the not.
“Well I did, I think it’s just the honourable thing to do, just to say this is what it is,” he told Yvonne Okoro. He also added that at the time of informing Frances about his marriage, they weren’t dating.

He finally bought his own house this year , moved in, and said he did not want the relationship anymore . This bastard actually told me to my face that he did not feel anything the last time we had sex in my house just before he moved to his house. I had my own place before I got married while my fiance was still living with his parents. The most he did was spend weekends and he will never come empty handed. He must buy stuff along with him. If I need to buy diesel/food that weekend,it comes from his pocket. Its a given i dont need to ask.
That ur man already had a girl outside he was spending on. He just needed you for room and board.

DeleteMy DH works abroad as an expat and also lived in a different city but we met in my city while he was visiting a friend. When he engaged me, I asked him to move in with me so that we can have more time together when he is back in the country. He thought I meant free because he also has his own house but nothing is free in my language. He pays the highest bill in the house while I pay my mortgage because it's mine (apart from one months bill he didn't pay 😙).
Anyway he also pays for food and does his responsibilities as a BF.
It wasn't easy to get to this stage because he knows I am well paid but he has to understand that I cannot feed a man.
This process made him understand his responsibilities as a husband by the time we got married because I cannot be working full-time and looking after children.
There is nothing wrong with your BF living with you, but it's all about how well you use that time together before marriage. For me, I used it to set boundaries.
Don't worry anon 10.25, your right man will come. This time just don't be afraid to set boundaries and rules early in the relationship.

I honestly think he probably thought he could not impregnate anyone. Most African men do not get their first child at 50, especially men who are famous, and not bad looking. I think he had likely given up on the possibility of fatherhood and was just living his life with no expectations and out of the blue a baby comes.
