Speaking at the occasion held at the Emir of Gumel’s Palace, the Special Assistant to Governor Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, Alhaji M. Saleh Kwalam said the female orphans were married out based on their choices, adding that the gesture would continue in other Emirates in the state, one after the other.
He said: “42 orphans are today married out to the husbands of their choice in this emirate as scheduled. The state Governor has provided all furniture to all of the orhpans that include beds, 6×6, mattresses 6×6 from Mouka foam, two pillows, wardrobes, four window blinds each, leather carpet, among other items. A medical test against any illness was also done on them and paid for by the committee.
Also, wife of the state Governor, Hajiya Hasina Badaru called on the husbands to take good care of their wives as stipulated in Islam. She also donated carpet, food flasks and hijabs to each of the orphans, just as the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani warned the husbands against any form of maltreatment. “I urge you to take them back to schools to enable them know how to worship and live peacefully with others.”

I don't know how they do it but if this is how it is done then kudos to him
ReplyDeleteIs this the job of a governor or government
DeleteOk.
ReplyDeleteIf that's what they need then Nagodie.
ReplyDeleteAlright..
ReplyDeleteIf that's their way of doing things. I pray it was really their choice and the men do not resort to maltreating them.
ReplyDeleteI wish them peace in their new homes.
ReplyDeleteHighly commendable. That's why there is hardly single women in Islam. Except those that don't want to marry. In Islam, there is a husband and wife for everyone that is willing. No need for vigil or sowing seed to any pastor. Polygamy is d answer.
ReplyDeleteIt is not!
DeletePolygamy fails more than it is successful.
DeleteI would appreciate this story more if it was about female orphans being sent to school or learning a skilled trade. How is having a husband going to improve their lives other than them now turning into breeders.. Mtschhw.
The ones including celebrities who went to school and are empowered, are they not the ones hoeing up and down? What has happened education and empowerment done for them? Plus the many other graduates and skilled women here looking for money everyday. A woman needs food, clothing and shelter plus good sex without stress and Islam provides for these. In five years time if they are not married, you will be calling them gwegs. Let them marry now in peace. Most of you are sharing your husbands with multiple women. Only that it's not legalized. I repeat, polygamy is the answer. Many fraudulent pastors and churches will fold up if polygamy is embraced. Let us stop deceiving ourselves with monogamy in Africa. It's not working.
DeleteOh please stop your foolishness! This is the reason other leaders can style African nations as shithole countries. Instead of empowering young women to use their brains and talents to help build their countries instead they are just good to marry off and turn into breeders. While other women from nations that empower them are getting Nobel prizes in science these young orphans will never know if they could have been somebody in the world because they were never ever given that opportunity. They made sure they got comfortable bed and foam though, but no land title for even a lot of land so they can even use it for farming to sell their produce. No education, no skilled training, no ability to take care of themselves, they will be at the mercy of these men for even their basic needs. Don't these communities need medical professionals, teachers, engineers, plumbers, electricians..etc? Wouldn't it have been wiser to educate the orphans so they can help in the advancement and development of their communities? I guess not since Africans love to be behind everybody else on the planet and come in last place in innovation and development all the time. In all of Africa there is not one superpower black nation that have ANY global power. So continue to see women as only good for breeding, and you will continue to be called the dark continent, and trust me, that is not in reference to the skin color of the people.
DeleteThis is what is called SLAVERY. @Blessed Princess
ReplyDeleteWish them well..
ReplyDeleteThis is rubbish why not give them scholarship and send them to school. This is why poverty will continue to grow in the north despite the amount of money pumped over there.Instead of forcing this helpless women into early marriage without empowering them
ReplyDeleteWhy not pawn his own children off like this? That is why they oppose feminism there because if all these girls have equal access to education and funds, they wouldn't want to be shipped off to one man's house like this!
ReplyDeleteHope the girls are above 18 before marrying them off
ReplyDeleteHope the girls are above 18 before marrying them off
ReplyDeleteOkay
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the male orphans? Were they also auctioned to wives and urged to do rubbish?
ReplyDeleteAsk dem. Everybody wants to own a woman's pussay and her fertility. They just put these orphans out to give free sex and turn into breeders for men under the guise of marriage. When they have been used up for a few years the men will go look for a new hole to rest his pole. Bout they got married to men of their choice, Mtschhw. Look what they gave them to start life, not even a lot of land to the orphans considering they are orphans, just some 6x6 foam, thermos and the other foolishness and told the husband to make sure they go to the mosque. Imagine young women with no families being treated like this. Instead of making sure they have a solid education or skilled trade and gift them a choice piece of land, they marry them off so men can get free sex. If the man dies and they now become a widowed orphan they have no means of caring for themself or their children, they will have to find a new man to marry and the cycle starts all over again.
DeleteAll these influential young Muslim women like Zahra Buhari and Fatima Dangote and all the others must live in their own bubble instead of starting a foundation to help young women like these.
