Political Parties List APC Chieftains Behind Planned Arraignment Of CJN Onnoghen By FG

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has condemed what it called the undemocratic, unconstitutional and illegal plot by the Buhari government “to fix the last missing piece of their rigging machinery” ahead of the 2019 election.

Imo Ugochinyere, spokesman of CUPP, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday, also listed those he alleged forced the APC to go after the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen.

“We call on all Nigerians to know that from our Intelligence reports that AGF Abubakar Malami, Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio, Adams Oshiomhole, Bola Tinubu and Hope Uzodimma are the brains behind the CJN Must Go Project”, he said.

CJN Onnoghen will be arraigned on Monday by the federal government.

CUPP’s statement reads: “The Presidency had during the appointment of Justice Onnoghen shown its card that it was not comfortable with his appointment hence it was delayed until President Buhari was hurried out of the country due to perennial illness. Justice Onnoghen has since shown that he is fair, firm, and able to do justice and will not succumb to the pressures of a Presidency that is planning to rig an election as the only hope of winning a reelection following their rejection by the Nigerian people.

“This dastardly move by the Presidency is the last desperate acts of an outgoing government to blackmail the CJN out of office and bring in a

rouge judge to allow APC rigging.

  1. Now understand this, none of them I mean politicians that don't have a skeleton in their cupboards. Truth be told, if the chief Judge was political with the ruling party, all these we are hearing wouldn't have come out.

Remember they(APC) have lost so many cases and a good example is the one of Rivers State concerning Tonye Cole gubernatorial election which Ameachi is directly involved. So I won't be surprised to find out the aforementioned names above are the brains behind this whole acts.

Are they just finding out now about it? I feel they are threatened that the judiciary won't do their biddings and the earlier they remove the headman the better for them. They should leave him until the elections are over and then gradually follow the case up.

    2. Maybe the EFCC and the present administration have lost cases because the man at the helms of overseeing the judiciary in the country is a fraud. And this has proven it. The judiciary has been failing us for a long time except for few trusted people in the justice system. What about the recently appointed NBA president and funds laundering and corruption on his head? President of the NBA? Think man, think.

  2. That's serious. The CJN ought to have come out clean since he known kind of water he is fishing on. Too sad.

  3. All sentiments! The question is; was he framed? If No the man should face the music.

    1. The music been orchestrated by political undertone you mean? How fast has the government arraign corrupt people in this country? So why is this one so special to receive a speedy hearing? Even Tinubu and Saraki assets declaration wasn't as fast like this. What of Senator Ekweremadu that was alleged of not declaring his assets? Do you know he hasn't been arraign till date. Think well bro...

    2. So, what exactly is your point? Let me help you itemize;
That he declared his assets properly and he is being framed? Remember he has admitted he forgot some accounts.

That he did not declare some assets but he should be forgiven? The law does not recognize forgiveness before conviction.

That APC made him forget to follow the law which he is supposed to be the chief upholder?

    3. Good questions anonymous 08:23. Yes he has apologized over it and admitted forgetfulness of declaring his assets. Make no mistake about this, I never said he is being witch hunted or innocent, but my problem is, why didn't the NJC saddle with the responsibility of things like this consulted? Go and read the response of Femi Falana about it. The National Judicial Council ought to have been the first place of contact if truly there wasn't a sinister motives by the government.

    4. “Yes he has apologized over it and admitted forgetfulness of declaring his assets.” Wow! It seems everybody who commit a crime should just apologize in the court of law and say that their crimes were due to mistakes or forgetfulness. I wonder how many people this same justice has sentenced even though they pleaded for forgiveness.

Tinubu and Saraki’s cases were not as fast as this? The man is not even in court yet but you are comparing the duration of his case and that of the two people you mentioned? Don’t forget, Saraki and Tinubu didn’t accept that they didn’t declare their assets. But the CJN has accepted that he forgot to declare which already means admittance of the charges against him. Even if taken to court, the procedure for the judgement won’t even take long because he has already made public acceptance of his crime.

The statement of Femi Falana was made before the public acceptance of the CJN’s crime. In fact, the Attorney General of the Federation already made it clear about tabling the issue with the NJC board which makes the case against the CJN binding. Political undermine or not, there is a crime here and the CJN has acknowledged it. Emotion here doesn’t solve the problem at hand. All this unnecessary rationale is arguing that two wrongs make a right. Forget it man, there is a crime here and the CJN should do the needful. Period!

    1. No! There won't be another war dear. No country survive two wars. I will agree that there will be political violent uprising that will hit the nation but not a full blown war.
