Ghana Deports Hundreds Of Nigerians For Various Offences...

The Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Amb. Michael Abikoye has protested the inhuman treatment of Nigerians by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) with the deportation of 723 Nigerians between 2018 and 2019.

Abikoye said this at a meeting between him and the Comptroller-General of GIS, Kwame Takyi, in Ghana.

The High Commissioner said that 723 Nigerians were deported on alleged illegal stay, cyber crime and prostitution between the January 2018 and January 2019.

According to him, 81 Nigerians are deported on alleged cyber crime and illegal stay in January, while 115 have so far been deported in February on the allegation of overstay and prostitution.

  12. Imagine these Ghanaians that Nigeria as a country abd Nigerians have helped so much in the past. I don’t blame them. Na our government fail us and have turned our country to a laughing stock. Imagine Ghanaians that used to prostitute all over Lagos and Port Harcourt before. Chai!! This brought tears to my eyes because l know how my family personally allowed several Ghanaians stay in our house. Chai!!! Ghanaians that could not even afford lux soap back then because it was very expensive. I remember when our five Naira was thousands of cedis.

    1. It doesn't matter even if you fed the whole of Ghana from your house. They will not allow you to come and be doing rubbish in their country. How many Ghanaians in Nigeria are half as troublesome as those Nigerians that are living in their country? Please just stop it!

  13. Lets be honest, aint our people there engaged in criminality there,we engage in cybercrime and all sorts of nonsense there so if such people are deported no qualms but proper investigations needs to be done so as for the Nigerians residing there legally to be protected from harassments.

  17. You guys should stop this nonsense sentiments. Mayb if we were also more disciplined our country wouldn't be such a mess.

Our immigration laws are too weak, anybody comes in and goes, foreigners overstay.

I like what Ghana is doing, if you go to another country and it is crime you want to be committing, of course you deserve to be deported and if you want to live thete, legalize your stay.

  19. Thank you! All those that are here shouting that it is ordinary Ghana be there and be doing nonsense. I have said it here and I will say it again. If you live in a serious country where their laws work you can't just troop into that country and want to do what you want and get away with it. The way some Nigerians are going about it in that country is shameful! go and see them full for there only to be doing yahoo and other nonsense things. I don't even associate myself with the Nigerians because I tell you they make it shameful. Legalize your stay, you will not do it but you want to be moving freely and doing nonsense in someone's country? Ever since I have been here there hasn't been a single time they will arrest robbers or a bad gang that you will not find Nigerians involved. My people why? I am just tired!

  21. When you go to another Country and choose to be a nuisance, you should be deported. Nigerians carry their unruly behaviours into saner countries and then claim victims when they are booted out.
Ghana was a country where folks paid rents by the week/month until Nigerian 419/Yahoo boys went there and started paying upfront rents for years thereby enticing Landlords and spoiling things for others. They set up businesses but will refuse to pay state taxes just because this is what they do back in Nigeria. Do we have to talk about disturbing serene neighbourhoods with loud music blaring from their cars at 2am just to announce their affluence? Taking their magomago disputes to nightclubs and spoiling the nights for other fun seekers? Is it their drug runs? Prostitution, armed robbery, human trafficking, money rituals and yahoo yahoo? Let them be kicked out before they completely pollute(that's if they havent already) that country. The Ecowas treaty allows 3 months stay but some of our people go there and stay endlessly. If to say dem even dey lay low, stay out of trouble like other West Africans do here in Nigeria, dem for no dey enter trouble. But as usual, dem must always show themselves.

  22. So Ghanaians are not holy. Why are they so easily enticed? Why not return the excess and say in Ghana we do not collect annual rent??Just asking oh

  23. Does Nigeria deport immigrants at all?
    It is well.
