    3. "The Nigerian people have demonstrated resilience and a commitment to democracy. The result declared by the Nigerian election commission is consistent with the result obtained through the civil society Parallel Vote Tabulation process. Along with our international partners, the UK believes the Nigerian people can have confidence in the result"

  7. Stella and BV, some of us are really pained about this election but I in particular I not surprised. What do we expect? This is the case of May the best rigger rig and be in power for 4 or 8yrs. Is Atiku in anyway better that Buhari? No! They are the same group of people that have held Nigeria hostage. Changing party membership does not delete the fact that they are in this together. All went out to rig, Buhari rigged better with the power of incumbency. When can we get a new set of people to lead Nigeria? Are we ready to support them or are we going to sell our votes for a bag of rice or a few thousands of naira? Look at the village some who sold their wrappers to send their kids to school and their kids are at home suffering after graduation, mobilise them with a half bag of rice and they will support the same the reason that is the cause of their poverty.
Both Buhari and Atiku are not what we need, we need young people who are knowledgeable and versatile. People who are ready to engage in healthy competition with the developed worlds, people who can explain the reasons behind their actions. Are we ready to support such people? No. I wish there is a none bloody revolution that can send these great grandfathers to their homes for a peaceful retirement. We will consult them from time to time because of their elderly wisdom. But we need a change and I believe that one day that change will come. God is alive.
We need sanitization, starting from each an every one of us. We need to understand that these people in power now do not care about us, they are there to enrich their purses. It may take a while but I have the hope that one day we can see democracy and feel it as well. For now, it is the case of who can rig better! I weep for my country.
