Government Building Gutted By Fire In Abuja....

The Office of the National Productivity Centre (NPC) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been gutted by fire.

The accident occurred on Wednesday at the NPC office located at Cape Town Street, Zone 4, Wuse, Abuja.

According to the Director-General of the Centre, Kashim Akot, “the fire was caused by the electric surge in one of the sockets in the upper building of the office.”

Although no life was lost, the fire, however, ravaged some parts of the first floor of the building.

The NPC boss regretted that many important data that are relevant for national usage were lost during the unfortunate incident.

The NPC, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Labour supervised by Senator Chris Ngige as Minister, aims at improving the quality of lives of Nigerians by making available increased quantity and improved quality of goods and services to the people.

  5. Useless parastatals littering Nigeria!

Productivity center serving a vague purpose
    Ensuring quality how?
Is it SON, NAFDAC or what ?

    If there are,
The fire extinguishers will likely be dead (zero maintenance culture) so therefore useless

Then insurance? Premium paid if at all when the building was built in 18kpiridim

Waste, hypocritical appearance of government doing something through these "vague" watery parastatals and agencies meanwhile no measurable impact or discernable usefulness

Its time for a call out of agencies and other government institutions that are sitting pretty in their comfort zones, doing nothing and feeling untouchable.

    Governance is at all levels.
They have roles to play but cannot keep singing the tune of low funding.
The little you get what do you use it to do, what research, what impact, what value are you to the man on the street?

If you are not creative enough to work around your constraints and yet still do something tangible. Then you are a Failure and should leave for others with a functional brain in their head and useful ideas to come on board.
Octagon shapes in triangular holes has to end!
    Let us start from here.

  8. Hmm, Electrical fire.

Experienced same two days ago, the fan regulator in my kids room was melting fast as inside it was red hot, the goodnews is I was at home and quickly disconnected power from the house and subsequently used a plier to cut the line supplying power to the fan regulator.

I shudder to think of what would have happened if there was nobody at home.
I return all glory to the most High.
