Iya Ibeji Series -Fatherly Instinct

No man is born with a fatherly instinct......

A long time ago before my husband got married he was very close to his childhood friend, let's call this friend Mike. Mike lived in another town so when ever my husband was in that town he stayed at Mike's place.

Mike was married with little children, so one day Mike left for work leaving my husband, his wife and the children at home. After a while the wife said she quickly wanted to go to the market and she told my husband to look after the children. So my husband was left alone with the children because they seemed peaceful and quiet he fell asleep, only for him to be woken up by Mike's wife, that they are looking for their son.

My husband joined in the search, and after a while Mike's wife decided to call Mike and tell him about the situation. Mike came back from work, my husband said he had never seen him that furious. He said he tried to explain to him but Mike totally ignored him and directed his anger at his wife.

Mike started screaming at his wife "What have you done with my child?" The wife tried to explain that he left the boy with my husband, but according to DH it was like he was invincible to Mike. Hubby said when Mike started threatening his wife that was when he knew e don pass be careful. Mike threatened to lock up his wife. He said "by the time you sleep for jail your eyes go clear".

A man that had threatened to lock up his wife what will he do to his friend? Nobody told DH before he knew he had to go spiritual, he went to his room and started speaking in other tongues, he said come and hear kabashing na. Not long after a neighbour from down the street brought the boy, the boy had gone to their place to play.

After the incident DH said Mike started acting cool like nothing happened. Nobody told my hubby whenever he was in that town he stayed in the hotel.
Now hubby has kids of his own and totally understood why Mike acted that way.

I have heard him repeat the story to folks around us that have been careless with our children and he said he will do more than Mike.

He said he was careless then because the fatherly instinct hadn't set in then.

Dear BVs of SDK'S blog if you see the way my hubby takes care of children ehn? If they don't rest ,he doesn't rest. Maybe he doesn't want what happened in 1963 to repeat itself. I have complained so much that i have let him be. Sometimes I feel sorry for the kids but most times I deliberately leave them with him to have my me time.

    1. What is confusing here? That a man has faith that we will have children and already having plans for them.

  3. My husband too doesn't joke with his kids oo, boy and a girl. Even if he comes home late from work he must make sure he sees them and sometimes wants to even wake them up so that they can play. Sometimes he'll even lecture me oo, me that is at home taking care of them 24/7..now that there's a girl, he'll be shouting...a girl child is not like the boy child oo...make sure u put yo eye down, don't let anyone carry my child, always carry her yoself...oh God I don tay

  5. Mike didn't have any business with your husband; he left his children with his wife, not your husband. So, naturally his wife is the person he will face.

  11. Threatening to lock up his wife shows he has little value for her. Don't we all make mistakes? If the table had turned around wouldn't he want some empathy. I sure hope Mike is a lot more understanding than he was back then.
