Onnoghen, through his team of lawyers led by Chief Adegboyega Awolowo, SAN, notified the Mr. Danladi Umar-led three-man panel tribunal that he developed an acute toothache he said needed urgent medical attention.
To establish his claim, counsel to the suspended CJN who is answering to a six-count charge, tendered a medical report that was issued to him by the hospital where he was said to be receiving treatment.
Upon an inquiry from the tribunal, FG’s lawyer, Mr. Aliyu Umar, SAN, acknowledged that he was served with a photocopy of the said medical report.
The prosecution counsel told the tribunal that he would have raised an objection against Onnoghen’s failure to appear for his trial on the basis of the medical report, if not for the fact that the doctor indicated that the defendant had a high blood pressure measured at 410/121.
Umar, SAN, said he was therefore constrained to reserve his observation on the medical report since the doctor equally indicated that the embattled CJN would need a bed rest for at least 72 hours.
Meanwhile, following an agreement by both the defence and the prosecution, the CCT Chairman, Mr. Umar, reluctantly adjourned the matter till March 18.

They have come with excuses. I hope he won't suffer heart attack before the next hearing.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Teejay?This should be fun
DeleteShebi when they suspended this man everyone was shouting that it was a ploy by the government! If he is truly innocent of the crimes he is been accused of, why always give excuses not to appear in court for the case, cos if a person is innocent, he or she should always be ready to come out and defend himself or herself. Tomorrow now he will have cancer or kidney failure
ReplyDeleteI tire o...you can imagine someone calling one a thief in public when one is not. The way you will fight henn. .
DeleteA whole chief judge playing Dino Melaye. Hope he doesn't end up on a tree too
DeleteAnoy 20:50 we will witness more drama from this man. Atiku has lost so he needs more time to play more games.
DeleteIn Nigeria when a high ranking individual has a case in court, you will see and hear all manner of medical conditions they are suffering from. Does it mean the case brought the sickness upon them? I remember a former Egyptian president was brought to court on stretcher to answer for his crimes.
ReplyDeletePoliticians and other influncial Nigerians shouldn't be condoned with all this medical excuses, they often delay cases and judgement.
The former CJN should prove his innocence by allowing this case go as fast as possible. The world is watching.
Lol.
ReplyDeleteLol.
ReplyDeleteAnon 20:50 please dont mind them oo..the guilty will always show theirself sooner or later..and guess what..even after this, some lame persons will still come and rant rubbish for selfish reasons..rubbish upon rubbish

ReplyDeleteHe doesn't declare his assets but I know he can afford the rent, he's trying to be smart.
Better stand your ground from the beginning. This is how in law troubles starts.
DeleteOr you can get pregnant for his brother just to reset his brain.

ReplyDeleteKirikiriphobia (also known by other names) sometimes manifest as acute tooth ache, neck pain, kidney/cardiac ailments and constant fever. Other manifestation comes into play as the condition progresses.
ReplyDeleteKIRIKIRIPHOBIA, Yes, I see am for Wikipedia.
DeleteWhat a shame!! The lies thieves tell when caught. How can his blood pressure be so high. What did they use to record it. According to google, the highest blood pressure ever recorded is 370. His blood pressure has beaten the record. If anyone's blood pressure gets that high, na death be that.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same. How can he still be alive with that blood pressure. This man has a case to answer. Somebody will come now and said he is innocent.
DeleteBlood pressure 410? and he is still alive.May God deliver us from these people.
ReplyDeleteThey think they are talking to fools who know nothing. In fact, if l were the judge, I would feel insulted. Nobody’s blood pressure can get that high.
DeleteBunch of thieves in Government.
You go fear BP now. With that kind of BP he should be lying unconcious in an ICU. Our legal system is one of our greatest problems.
ReplyDeleteThat's why pdpigs always ask for 'rule of law'. They know how to play around and subvert it. Buhari is theur husband
