“The court grants the plea of the petitioner and, therefore, dissolves the union between her and her husband, Bamidele.
“They shall cease to be husband and wife; both parties are ordered to go their separate ways without any threat to life or blackmail,’’ Adeyanju held.
Kemi filed for divorce on Nov. 6, 2018, saying that Bamidele was uncaring, irresponsible and a gossip. She said that she was fed up with the marriage.
“My husband does not have a job and is not even bothered to show he wants to get a job.
“All he does is to gossip about in the neighbourhood which l find detestable.
“There was a time he brought his friend and family members to live with us in our one room apartment. “l am tired of shouldering responsibilities at home,” she said.
Kemi also told the court that Bamidele deceived her into the marriage by not telling her he never went to school. “It was later l discovered my husband never had any formal education.
However, Bamidele, denied the allegations, and urged the court not to dissolve the union. He told the court that he still loved Kemi. “I still love my wife, I don’t want divorce. “l always try within my means to pay our son’s school fees and take care his other needs,’’ he said.

ReplyDeleteThe worst thing is to marry a male gossip because any random woman or man can drag him on the street, disrespect and disgrace him. The public embarrassment must have been too much for the woman. I know a man just like this when growing up. Lazy at work but can gossip about even a new born baby. Gosh, the disgrace his wife used to face as a result of his running mouth was epic. Even small children did not respect him and people laugh at him as a nuisance and rumor monger. It’s good to respect yourself always. It’s from there I learnt not to gossip because once you are exposed, the disgrace can be too much.
