The leaders of the party in state reaffirmed their continuous support to the governor on Sunday, some weeks after the national body of the party issued a query to Akeredolu for alleged anti-party activities.
Recall that after the recently concluded 2019 elections, party’s National Working Committee, NWC, had accused the governor that his alleged romance with Action Alliance, AA whose candidates he supported at the February 23 poll “greatly affected the fortunes of its candidates in the recently conducted presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.”
According to the party leaders, who converged on the Alagbaka Government House, they stated that the governor’s strides in infrastructural development across the state as well as workers welfare, industrialization among others propelled their pass mark on the governor.
While giving a hint of advocating second term bid for the governor, a BOT member, Jamiu Ekungba and the APC South West chairman, Bankole Oluwajana explained that Akeredolu has made the next journey of the party easy. They described Akeredolu as a sellable candidate who has touched the lives of the people of the state meaningfully.
The party’s stalwarts, who hailed the governor for achieving so much within the space of two years described as unprecedented the growth the state is presently witnessing, despite paucity of funds.
Reacting, Akeredolu thanked leaders of the party for the confidence reposed in him, assuring that more dividends of good governance will be enjoyed across board.
