However, NCEF-led by former Minister of Defence, Lt.Gen. Theophilus Danjuma(rtd) and Solomon Asemota faulted the visit which was described as “morally and spiritually reprehensible.”
In a statement signed by Danjuma and Asemota on Monday entitled, “Not on our behalf, CAN President, Not on our behalf,” NCEF said “The ill-advised congratulatory visit to President Buhari amounted to subjudice” as the determination of who won the 2019 general election “is still in court.”
The statement reads: “It is therefore premature and presumptuous for anyone to congratulate President Buhari for “winning” an election that is contested in court.
“The NCEF wishes to state that the congratulatory visit to Aso Villa by CAN could not be in the interest of Nigerian Christians who daily bear the agony of thousands of their brethren being killed, maimed, displaced and marginalised in the jihad launched in the northern parts of the country.
“It is well known the indifference of the Buhari administration to the murder of Christians all over the country.
“This indifference has led many, including foreign observers, to conclude that the Buhari administration is complicit in the genocide that is taking place in Nigeria.”

Hopefully, none of your family members will be affected, you'll understand.
DeleteSome people live in terror daily all their lives in this same Nigeria that is safe for someone like you to say, confused elders.
And it's you that will be advocating that people should respect Buhari.

ReplyDeleteCAN is on its own. As far as I am concerned, they do not represent me as a Christian.
ReplyDeleteOn point. They are not for us. The jihadist should be called out.
ReplyDeleteCan, money making venture
ReplyDeleteGreedy Pastors who have immuned themselves from the hardship being suffered by most Nigerians because their church business is very profitable; they hobnob with politicians who have to thank them for helping them keep Nigerians in religious bondage so that instead of Nigerians challenging government for their rights to social justice and economic prosperity, Nigerians will
ReplyDeleteprefer to be praying while the politicians loot the funds that should be used to achieve a better society (eg: the $16 Billion electricity funds) while the pastors also collect their own share. Nigeria is a predator's paradise.
