End SARS -Your View!

These days in Nigeria,if you see a moving train coming your direction and out of control,or you see an armed Robber coming your way,or the Nigerian Police..It is advised to head 'South' Immediately...

Innocent unarmed Nigerians are dying because the Nigerian policemen can no longer keep their guns in check.....

There is a movement #EndSARS (Special anti robbery squad)which is yet to be ended...Lives are still being lost by the way!

How do you think is the best way to avoid the scenario described up there? There have been so many lives lost, not from the train or the robbers alone but from Nigerian Police...!!!

What is your view on the Nigerian Police Killings?

  3. SARS is just constituting nuisance every day by day... the govt should scrap it already..the reason they were created in the first place is defeated..they now go about harassing people anyhow

  4. SARS shows the notorious brutality and corruption that is the NPF. #endSARS

They portray the Nigerian Police Force as nothing more than hired street thugs hand picked for positions by corrupt government officials because most of them selected are  uneducated and unqualified for the position. #endSARS

Truth is the Nigerian Police has brutalized and destroyed lives more than the armed robbers they are supposed to arrest and investigate. #endSARS

No justice for victims..Police Officer or not, a crime is a crime. #endSARS

  7. Hmmmmmmmm,
I saw Burnaboy's post on Instagram about our artists not coming out collectively to fight this SARS scourge. To be fair,Burna Boy is right. We shout #endsars whenever something happens, mostly recorded events. After a week or so,e don end. Everybody goes back to their normal business. The last time a celebrity, who happened to be 2face,stood up to a similar situation. His colleagues whom I thought would join him and make a statement weren't anywhere. He was gassed at their peaceful protest and the yeyebrities started using hastags. The more reason why I will NEVER support any of the works these our 9ja yeyebrities put out......NEVER!!!!!!!

    5. You are very stupid anon , shame catch me for Nigeria for this your comment , a commissioner saying he fears his boys sometimes does that even make sense , if they were properly trained would they even fire guns at the slightest provocation?until I traveled out of Nigeria last month before I realized Nigeria is truly a hell hole.

    6. Anon 14.18 is obviously a police personnel. So the penalty for standing your ground is death??

The demons called SARS are fervently wasting innocent souls for no reason,i describe them as "Govermental serial killer".. They are nothing to write home.

We all need to know that,,in as much as the power still goes to the top,the situation will problem to surface..we need decentralization of power, this alone will give an head way.

  12. The only solution to police scourge in this country is to carry out a complete overhaul of the police and reform all aspects of the institution to be in line with international standards. The entire process from qualification, recruitment, training, remuneration, deployment, supervision, accommodation, welfare and pension should be upgraded and computerised to meet modern standards. Qualification to join the institution should be upgraded to a minimum of HND/B.sc. The place is full of illiterates who are recruited mainly on ethnic and man-know-man basis, many hardly understand their role as policemen and their interaction with the public is often appalling. I had an encounter with one at a checkpoint at night one day on an isolated road and the threats and harassment emanating from him just to collect bribe from left me so traumatized it took me three days for me to recover my humanity. I avoid that road since that day. I have also meet a number of highly competent, excellent, professional officers but they are mainly senior officers. Training should focus more on human rights, weapons handling and community relations; refresher courses locally and overseas and promotion exams should be constant; The President should appoint and fully empower the VP Yemi Oshinbajo to take full charge of overhauling the police force and root out the bad eggs, cancel unnecessary units, end internal corruption; embezzlement of police welfare funds by the senior officers and misuse of police personnel as private bodyguards and private servants by so-called big men and their wives. Many police barracks are like ghettos/slums, anyone living in such environment will always be angry with the society and can unwittingly direct such anger against innocent people. If senior or retired policemen are appointed to overhaul the institution, they will achieve nothing because they are part of the problem and have a lot to hide. It speaks volumes about the internal corruption going on in that place when a single IGP once embezzled over N13Billion of the institution's money. The junior officers see all these diversion of their welfare money but dare not talk and instead take their anger out on the masses. A standard internal complaint and resolution unit should be set up to confidentially resolve issues of oppression and cheating of junior officers. Finally the President must constantly show interest in the affairs of the police and create make a scape goat of anyone who abuses human rights. Nigeria can never thrive without an energetic President because only a hands-on President is suitable for Nigeria, A President that relies 100% on aides and appointees will constantly be deceived, lied to and kept from knowing the reality of situations. The police is the first means of contact most Nigerians ever have with the Nigerian government mostly as youths and most times it is never a good contact, leaving a bad impression in one's psyche throughout one's lifetime. A government that knows its job will take police issues seriously not just arming them as instruments of coercion like Napoleon did in George Orwell's Animal Farm. The state of a country's police has a direct bearing on the type of government exists in thea country- however that is for a government that cares about its image and its people.

  14. No need too end SARS, they need total overhauling. If you end it, the result will surely come in a very hard way.
They are the one that cortails Armed robbers and other criminals in the state.

None of these people shouting end SARS will come out when kidnappers and armed robbery show up.

  15. Ending SARS alone will not solve the matter. The issue is a complete overhaul of the entire police force is required. There needs to be a thorough sanitization to include rank and file, officers and even the facilities such as the police stations ( you cannot work in those places day in day out and be normal), their barracks and also their salaries.
