Federal Government Declares Friday And Monday Public Holidays

The federal government has declared Friday, April 19 and Monday, April 22 as public holidays to mark the Easter celebration.

Georgina Ehuriah, permanent secretary, ministry of interior, announced the holiday in a statement.

Dambazau enjoined all Christians to emulate the exemplary attributes of Jesus Christ amongst which he listed to include tolerance, love and peaceful co-existence.

He urged all Nigerians, home and in the diaspora, to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country irrespective of their diversity in religious beliefs. He further called on Nigerians to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to take the country to the next level.

    1. I think if they don't declare it as public holidays, some companies might want their staff to come to work even though they know it's meant to be a public holiday

    2. it in in their power to make it official that's all

  2. Me I'm working on those two days, that bank holiday's money is always sweet,£600 for two days.

    1. Liar. Even if it’s true, you only get half of the money.
