Festus Keyamo Warns Nigerians Over Alleged INEC Video

Festus Keyamo SAN,the Director, Strategic Communications of President Muhammadu Buhari 2019 Presidential Campaign on Thursday advised Nigerians not to credulously fall for a purported video circulating online, were the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, allegedly spoke of the commission’s plan to electronically transmit results before the elections.

The fearless lawyer described the video as an entertainment piece, fabricated by the opposition, which should not be taken seriously by any Nigerian.

Disclosing this via his official tweeter handle, Keyamo averred, “Without referring to any particular pending Election Petition, there’s a need to generally guide Nigerians not to gullibly fall for the fantasy created by any video circulating where INEC official(s) spoke of INEC’s plan to electronically transmit results before the elections. “The video(s) of some INEC official(s) expressing an intention to electronically transmit results are only circulated for entertainment.

That procedure is neither contained in the Electoral Act nor in INEC’s Guidelines. Courts are only guided by these documents and not such videos. “Also, what you plan to do may be different from what you ACTUALLY DID. Assuming INEC planned to transmit electronically, the moment it said after the election that it did not do so, the matter ends there especially as the Electoral Act & the Guidelines do not allow it to do so. “In anticipation of the electronic transmission, some crooks concocted fictitious results and perhaps in connivance with certain INEC insiders (or by hacking) tried to upload those results into the server. The fact that electronic transmission didn’t happen destroyed their plan.

“The irony is that the real cheats are the ones struggling to create a narrative that they were cheated; the real crooks are the ones struggling to convince everyone that the system is crooked; those who actually planned to steal the people’s mandate are the ones crying foul. “The noise about the electronic transmission of INEC results is akin to a student who wants to cheat in an exam & enters the hall with prepared answers, not noticing that the set questions are not exactly framed as expected. So, when he’s later told he failed, he says it’s impossible.”from vanguardnrg

    2. Exactly! I see a defence so weak and filled with lies. That video by the INEC staff on a national interview and the attestation of those thirteen INEC POs in Borno and Yobe state, I tell you dear that an admissible evidence have been made before the tribunal. They really robbed the wrong guy like I said in the afternoon and they are in for it by the time Microsoft and Oracle expert comes up with the facts.

Like I said earlier this week, the judiciary has once again be put to test. The world is watching and history is about to be made either for good or for bad. I hope the judiciary will prove the world wrong that Nigeria isn't a failed state.

  3. Mr Festus Keyamo, you lied and you know that. I now understand why it took them so long a time struggling with your decoration as a SAN. You are a disgrace and sorry for a lawyer not to talk of a SAN with this attitude of yours.

Your Oga Gani Fawhemi of blessed memory was a human right activist and would never have traded his conscience for money just like you have done.

But here you are a direct opposite of him because of your love for money and mundane things.

What stops INEC from allowing electoral materials been investigated by Atiku if there is nothing you guys are hiding?

The thirteen POs of INEC from Borno and Yobe States that testified that they forwarded result to INEC database, is that one also sponsored by the opposition? Now I understand why your principal refused to sign the electoral bill, because you guys were bent on carrying out your criminality.

  6. Why is this man so tensed up? What's with all the panic statements and press releases? Why is the idea of the opposition going to the tribunal keeping the ruling party on their toes?
Please they are making the electorate suspicious. Let them allow the people see whatever is being presented and decide for themselves what to believe.

  8. Why is this man so jittery and making noise ? it really shows they are guilty, like i said yesterday i used to think Buhari won but with all that is happening now,it is now too too obvious that they have something up their sleeve and it looks like Atiku actually won,if you are sure of something ,you cannot be jittery and then INEC people are now covering alot of things, this is truly sad,i think Atiku should involve top interntaionl bodies to come in,it is indeed a shame that certian things are happening in Nigeria.
