Buhari Gives Trucks And Tankers 3 Days To Vacate Oshodi/Apapa Expressway

THE Presidency, yesterday ordered immediate clearance of Apapa gridlock and restoration of law and order to Apapa and its environs within two weeks.
The Presidency also directed trucks and tanker operators to vacate the Port Access Roads within 72 hours.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande in Abuja.

The directive mandated the immediate removal of all trucks from the bridges and roads within Apapa and all adjoining streets leading to the Apapa axis.

*So if they leave the Apapa/Oshodi expressway, where will they go to?The trucks will not just vanish!!!.....They should build parks for these trucks and stop shifting the problem from one place to another...

    1. If they stay off Lagos won't be the same Lagos economically... The govt should provide an enabling environment for business to thrive.

  6. This isn’t great news tho! The government should look for a permanent solution, this is only a temporary measure. Yes, apapa road might be clear, however those trucks would constitute a different type of nuisance elsewhere. Since they are not completely off the roads, just a shift in location.

  7. If truly this will come to pass , it will sure be a great news. fingers crossed though

  8. Yep, find a permanent truck parking lot/land for these tankers. Then using AI application, start a call up system for each of the trucks to queue up nicely within certain perimeters and hours, to clear their goods. Kapish

    1. They did this during when Fashola was governor but Ambode didn’t enforce it and the abokis are also too stubborn to comply.

  9. Will they obey him, people that believe they are above the law, if they disobey his order as they surely will, will he act like a real president, we are watching to see the drama.

  10. GOOD MORNING MR PRESIDENT. BETTER THAN NEVER

  11. Stella they built a park for them , can’t really remember where exactly, but those aboki drivers are too stubborn. They refused to park and stay there till it gets to their turn to enter the port. They all prefer to queue on the road instead of take their turn at the park.
