  5. Good morning my bv people.
I want advice that is why I borrow data for browsing to chat with everybody for advice.
    I am a NCE graduate.
And I have 2 work I want to do.

    1) restaurant seller,
My madam will be dashing me afternoon food and evening food everyday and I will be saving my money of food for marriage.

    2) Officer,
If I do secetry or typist, my office people will be dashing me money everyday, and I'll be saving my salary for the day I'll do my marriage. But I don't want to have toaster in the office because my friend say that people in the office like toasting secetry.

So my bv house, help your sister with what I will choose,
    thank you

    2. The office people told you they will be dashing you money everyday? Like it’s part of your job description or what will i call it

      Delete
    3. why are you after money that they will dash you,you sound like a child though. In both places you are going to have toasters:People in suits will toast you in the office and horny hungry men will smack your booty in the resturuant,so pick the toasters you want

      Delete
    4. The both of them are ok,it depends on the one you are comfortable with but i don't understand this your save money for marriage,na you want to marry yourself

      Delete
    5. It's not even what you want to do that is the problem, it's what you are actually going to do with the savings. You want to save your money for marriage and I guess you mean wedding right?
Are you the one footing the wedding bills? Oga to be nko? It's not good to put all your savings into a wedding that will last for just one day. People will eat, drink and still there will be complaints of food wasn't enough. Why don't you think of saving towards the marriage? How to reinvest that money? What side business to do with it? Children will come, won't you contribute to their upkeep? Don't start your marriage on zero account balance. Contribute a quota to the wedding, use the bulk to start a small biz (jewelry, bags, pastries)

On which work to do, I'll advice office secretary. If it's "toasting" as you put it, is it in restaurant that men won't ask you out? It's even more rampant there. It's how you comport yourself that matters. Work as a secretary and upgrade your educational qualifications. A good working environment will push you to be better and you will see people who can advice you on better career advancing courses to take.

    6. Madam NCE graduate, who do you like thi na? You want to e saving your salary for marriage inugo? Get married like this and you I'll see that your suffering UST dey start....
From a concerned member of 'BV HOUSE'

      Una doh

      Delete
    7. Eyah, you are saving towards your wedding? Is your man not capable enough? Pls don't rush into marriage, give him time let him balance well financially, that way the burden will not be too much on you. Then when it's time, you can contribute but don't use all you savings for wedding, remain part of the money so you can start a business after the wedding.
Go for the office job, you will have more time, you won't go to work on public holidays and weekends. The people you will meet there too are those that will inspire you. Restaurants don't have holidays, they only give you a day off. Rest is very important to the body. Also in restaurants, you will have more toasters than office. They will even touch your boobs and you must not fight them but in office setting, it is mainly responsible people that will toast you and you can turn them down. You may even meet someone better than your husband-to-be in the office. Don't dull yourself o.

  9. As Africans, where do we learn this kind of prayers I often see people pray this day? People shout, jump on chairs, whip the air and chant die die die. We are Christians and by implication  Christ like, but our attitude and prayer style doesn't show that.

Christ before raising Lazarus from death, look up to God the father and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me."  In a strong voice he echoed "Lazarus come forth".

When he raised the little girl, He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).

On another occasion, He slipped His fingers in the man’s ears. Spitting, He touched the man’s tongue. Then He looked up to heaven and groaned.

“Ephphatha!” Jesus said which means open.

When he cast out demons he didn't kill them, of course they are spirit being but sent them into the sea. Today, Christians kills the devil and its demons everyday yet the devil still roam the earth.

At the beautiful gate Peter said, silver and gold we have none but in the name of Jesus get up and walk. That is faith.

It took only songs and praises to freed Paul and Silas from prison. It wasn't shout of prayers or binding of the devil.

The walls of Jericho fell down under praises at the seventh time of walkover.

Now, look at how Elijah prayed before fire came down.

“Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

Do you notice something here? He prayed just like Christ above 'Answer me so that this people will know you are God'

The reasons you pray in repetition is that, you don't have faith and not in good union with God. If you have a good relationship with God, you only but speak once and see God's manifestation. It's not how much you shout or jump that makes a prayer effective but your faith and relationship with God.

    2. Couldn't agree more. As Africans we are naturally aggressive, anything gotten easy is suspect. Until we shout and sweat and groan before we get answers we do not value it.
So that when it's testimony time it will be sweet to recount.

The first time I heard my sister in law pray some years back, I felt goosebumps. The gentleness, the simplicity, the conversational tone, the love and reverence in her voice is had to peep if God had come down physically because I felt that. God is our father, a loving one for that matter so bikonu why do we sweat, shout and do acrobatics? Maybe it's the nature of the person praying maybe not but then I find out that the father and child prayer makes me feel like I connected with my daddy. The environment also is a big determinate factor. Have you worshipped in a church on the island or outside the country? Ngwa compare with the one in a local place.
Also, note that you may have to speak more than once to see God's manifestation and it doesn't mean that you are not on the right standing with Him. Sometimes it's to test our faith, it maybe that it's not yet the right time, it can also be that God wants to give you a much better testimony.
@Cyclone you have a point there 😟 we can wahala ourselves no be small

    6. @Ralu, I heard same experience when I first had a Presbyter pray.
It was our marriage counselling and we had opted last minute to wed in a Methodist church when the Pentecostal church we went to gave us a tough time.
After some discussion, he prayed for us. I haven't heard it thus before. So smooth, effortless. As if God was seated next to him and he was communing like Father and son. On our way home, I and hubby kept discussing with amazement how sincere the prayer was.
I still attend the church sometimes and it brings peace, better than some Pentecostals.

  18. You were with a guy for at least 4 years without any form of commitment from him all because you heard the word "rig", " offshore", et al. He didn't ask you out. He made it clear you weren't dating. He was "nice", "caring" and " generous" to you all the while. He'd call you after work for hours. I guess all that made him Mr Nice Guy. I feel for some ladies. You see generosity and "being caring" as the traits of a nice guy. Let me burst your bubble, Playboys are the most generous people. They'd do anything just to get in between your legs. Your own case is even strange. This guy had to string you to the point you practically asked him for commitment! Shame! See what women have reduced themselves to. If you have to ask a man to "define what we're doing", you don't value yourself. If you had any pride as a woman, the moment you noticed any guy wasn't being decisive with you, leave. Don't devalue yourself by asking him self -ridiculing questions. You don't have to motivate a guy for him to realise you're the woman he should be with. Let me tell you something ladies, the moment a guy sees a woman, he knows what he wants from her. But madam poster had to pause her life for him to make up his mind for like half a decade!
Some years back, I tried playing this card with a lady. She made it clear to me within a couple of weeks that " your fine boy can never make me ridicule myself. Stay away from me". I went back and she opened up once more. I took that for granted and went back to my old ways. This chic disappeared. Stopped picking my calls and all. I was probably enjoying the "game". I didn't know she disappeared for good. That was a girl that knew her value. Agreed, I had no intention of having a serious relationship with her, but her value stepped up when she refused to take shit from me. I still respect her till date. You don't need to be rude about it. Just be firm. You've ended up wasting so many years of your life. Women should realise they're different from men. You have limited time for reproduction. Use it wisely.
Ladies, any man that tells you his mum, dad, or people will not accept you does not deserve a second more of your time. These women, where una keep una pride sef?

Help me ask them oooo. Like what is it, you children lack when growing up?.
Was it Love, attention, were you deprived of something, are you trying to fill a void,or was it simply bad upbringing;overindulgence that stemmed from childhood that made you go about looking for who to bring down lower to the abyss of pain, down to the dregs of emotional turmoil. Your mental evaluation should be in the DAM. You guys are sickos.

A Guy tried this nonsense with me while minding my business. sorry not a guy but A"tata". Within three weeks I could sense he was a useless person I cut him off.But as usual they always come back with full force.

Friends, then complained I don't give men benefit of a doubt. Okay ooo. So gave him a second chance but he started his useless time wasting propaganda. Wouldn't open his mouth to ask me out but act jealous when other guys show interest.calling me pet names and all that rubbish without saying anything After two months grace I gave him.
Tried Blocking traffic but refused to move or park his car in the garage.I cut him off forever. Later saw his picture on my friends phone who had no idea I knew him. Learnt he was engaged to her cousin during those time he was wasting my time they planned their intro.

Some years later, he came to my husband's company to submit a proposal, where i am actually the CEO. A few building projects were in the works and my husband already told me he had it in mind to give the contracts(2)to the company where the idiot worked. You know what happened next? I bought this phone last four month which is January, and it is a Nokia phone ( Nokia 6). Now, I do not see Nokia products as one that develops fault easily. This phone is still as good as new. 22. BVs please, I really need you guys to input in this matter. If you have any suggestions, please do suggest.

The thing is_ our last born does not know how to read. He tries in mathematics more than any other subject. His first term result was bad (average: 47%) even though I tried helping him with revisions during exam. Now, this second term result moved from bad to worst ( wasn't able to do revision for him this time). His average was 39%. He is in jss1. He came back yesterday crying that his teacher told him he failed woefully that he doesn't want to go to school again. In fact, he wanted to go get his locker from school today but we refused him doing that.

NB: this my brother fell from a three storey building when he was four years old. Now, I don't really know if that was what affected him even though it was confirmed that he was very okay after he was checked in two different hospitals by the doctors ( he only had broken teeth and he was on braces for three month).

He is so behind his mate in terms of studies.
I really need a way to help him cause I believe if he learns how to read very well, he will excel in his studies but I really do not know how to go about it. I know I can read my self but I am not a teacher so I had no idea how I learnt that.
Please, I need your suggestions on how to go about it. So sorry for the epistle.

I wanted to send this as a Chronicle but I don't know how long it will take for Stella to post, and I really need urgent solution since third term just started.

    3. Eyaaa sorry about him. Encourage him always, he shouldn’t pay attention to anything negative. Then get him small sized short story books with pictures and bold words. Let him start from there, every evening, he finds a quiet place to read and enjoy these books. With each progress, you upgrade the books.

Please buy the foreign story books not African storytelling books. The foreign ones are very insightful and engaging. That’s how my late dad taught us how to read. Every evening, we read to him for like 10mins, he corrects and encourages us with the words we struggle with then after which, we have the books to ourselves till 10pm when we return it (in good condition- that’s part of the criteria 😁).

Your brother will be fine. Keep encouraging him.

    4. First thing you will need is patience. He will get there but it might take time.
      2) Go to his school and have a talk with his Teachers. The words of a Teacher should build and encourage not destroy.
3)Invest in him. Time and money. Find something or a subject he is good at and spur him on. When he is excel at that, you can then introduce other subjects.

      Delete
    5. why not try getting him a home tutor that we help him a lot. and don't fail to encourage him.

      Delete
    6. If you can get him a good teacher that can teach him after school,it think it can help
And secondly,if there's anything he loves doing aside books,it will also help
Lastly,he is still young and i believe he will learn.Always let him know that he can do it.He needs lots of encouragement
      Good luck with him

    7. That teacher should never have told him he failed woefully. He should have encouraged him to do better.

I always ask children who can 'beat' the best student in their class and if they do not put up their hands, I chastise them for it. I tell them there's nothing wrong if everyone comes first.

That they should never believe that they can't do as good as the first student or even better.

I am really ashamed of that teacher.

As for your brother, pls try and get him a private teacher. Watch him for some months and see if he gets any better

      Delete
    8. Your brother might be dyslexic. People think such kids are dumb, but really they are just suffering from a disorder that makes reading difficult. Please have him checked out for this and let him receive help.

      Delete
    9. You didn't state the age of your brother. First of all he needs to be examined to rule out dyslexia. Get a home tutor to take him through reading foundation which are the alphabet sounds, 2letter words, 3letter words etc. Once he is familiar with the sounds, he will gradually begin to pronounce words individually and in sentences.

      Delete
    10. He doesn't know how to read? Have you considered if he's dyslexic? That can make it difficult to read, or ADHD? He will need educational support if that is the issue but that doesn't mean he's not intelligent because they can be very intelligent, it means he needs a bit of help to overcome the challenge.

      Delete
    11. He needs help. With a good lesson teacher, he will improve. You didn't state your location, I would take him up if he is in Ibadan.

      Delete
    12. Get him a very good home tutor. You will testify within a short time.

      Delete
    13. Thank you so much guys for your contributions.
Now, I know all I've got to do. THANK YOU

    14. Very good home tutor, be patient and he should be given utmost attention and encouragement. He's self esteem and complex has to be protected. he should always see himself as the best among equals. "Gifted hands" is an example.

You can also choose to send the money in batches like thrice or twice a month insread of sending it at once. That is if you have a fixed amount you send to him monthly

  27. I will chat some people up on WhatsApp and they will not reply. Some will read and reply days after, some will leave our communication hanging. So, I decided to start paying such people back in their own coin. I deliberately marked them. Now, they have started bugging me and asking me if all is well. I will reply them after 10 days and I will ignore some forever. Friendship isn't one sided at all. People value you more when you don't make yourselves easily available for them.

  28. My heart is heavy and no one to speak to that will understand, I cried all night and can't sleep. The story of my life and near death experience I wrote in a book 3 years ago amidst tears, lonelines, false accusations, abandonment even from my family while I was in the prison for 30days and 30 nights on a murder case I was innocent of. My 13yrs old daughter that is not even a baby took her time to tear a full note book into pieces before I got back from work. I have a lot of books, I Intensionally hid that one from her, that is the only book that reminds me of what I've been through in this life and today makes it exactly 3yrs I miraculously gained my freedom. She tore the book last night could it be a coincident ??? I'm not even in the right state of mind to go the office, I'm losing my mind

    1. You want to constantly remind yourself of the pains you went through by going through the book whereby your heart will be heavy and you find it difficult to let go and forgive. Whe
When you also pray to God everytime to forgive you and not remember your sin.

Better go and hug your daughter for doing the right thing. God used her to turn evetything to shred so that you can have peace and also be at peace with God.

Sprry you went through all that.
Dont you think God has a plan for you. He wants you to turn your lemon to lemonade

Peace and it is well with you my dear sister. Dry up your tears.
You are now in a new page.n

    2. I am sorry you are going through such turmoil. Your daughter tearing up the book is symbolic to me. It means God wants to start a new positive book in your life. Don't keep clinging on to your past. God miraculously rescued you. That alone should be cause for joy! Your daughter may have torn up the book but the story is till yours now.

    3. So sorry for your pains. It could be symbolic that she was led to tear it. Don't dwell on your past. Look onto the bright future and see what God will do for you

  29. God is awesome. A friend's nephew almost died yesterday. What happened? He hid at the back of the car when she took him to school. Just because they introduced a new policy of students signing in when they come to school, she got distracted when signing so she didn't watch to see that everybody was out of the car. She drives a big SUV so its easy for a small human to hide at the back.

She was almost halfway back when she heard a sound at the back of the car. She parked and checked, Lo and behold a small 2yr old was crouching behind the seat. She just started weeping because she was on the way to the gym where she would have stayed for at least 4hours. That child would have been locked up in the car and he would have suffocated before she was done.

Mercy said no. No loss this month. We are all so thankful that nothing happened to the little boy. Thank you Jesus.

    Anonymous 2 May 2019 at 21:28
It could be true. When I was very young. My father and mother had a disagreement. Naturally, my mum will go quiet and not say a word but this very day she was trying to explain and this got my father very upset. As he raised his hand, my step brother that my dad adopted held it and warned him seriously. Throughout my stay from childhood to teenager, it really never happened. And to think my Dad is older than my maternal grandfather, so trust me, my step brother damned all consequences. Even after that, my dad still paid his school fees and saw him through the University. Please don't pray for my step Bro. He slept with me from like 5yrs till I entered the University and ran off to school. Though there was no penetration, he will f..k my thighs. Now that I'm married, that's the only way I get to enjoy sex and have an organ. Do now has to f..k my clitoris, else nothing. I didn't know how to speak up, so one day, I called him an ashewo, he reported me and my parents asked him to mount me on his back whilst I was being flogged. To avoid me running heater shelter. Oluwole A....e. It shall not be well with you. My father loved you and took you as a son but you are just a Bastard. From one of your many sisters you messed up.

    1. It is because both of you have conditioned your heart and mind to sex for children and not love.

Sex is enjoyable when done lovingly.

Why dont you people spice up.

Babies will come at Gods own time. Dont give up. Both of you can plan weekends away from home.

Go to somewhere romantic and you will see changes n

      Delete
    2. You can do doggy too. It I also good for those trying to conceive. When doing the missionary style, make sure a pillow is under your bum bum to raise it up, when your hubby is about to 'release', raise your legs up, hang them on his shoulders so that the sperm will enter where it is supposed to enter. Then lay down for at least 15mins after the match.

Why did you remain friends With a single girl after marriage? Very risky something. Na God catch you
My own friend started giving me space after I married, I just discarded her, good riddance. Surprisingly, after she married she started coming close again, I just blocked her, no way. Now my husband is my best friend, I only have females as casual friends.

  48. I may not agree with all Tonto’s antics but she is a strong woman
There is this culture of silence in Africa.

The culture affects African women. We are constantly being told what to do. Smile but don't smile too much, laugh but don't laugh too loud, pray for him, move on, focus on your children, don’t be bitter, don't report to the Police, keep quiet, suppress yourself.
This culture of silence is the reason most ladies can't report cases of domestic abuse and rape to the Police. They are faced with discouragement from family and friends. They are asked to keep quiet or no man will marry them.

Our mother’s inherited that culture of silence, some took refuge in their children, some died in silence, unhappy and sad, most internalized their pain and unfortunately they passed on the silence to their female children. The male children are strengthened, the female children are weakened.
Tonto is breaking those barriers. It is okay if Churchill grants an interview and bashes Tonto, most women will tell her, ignore him...same culture of silence. An evil man prospers when people keep quiet. He will move on to his next target and continue to mistreat women until someone speaks up. Tonto is breaking the silence. She is speaking up. It doesn't matter if you went through something similar, kept quiet and moved on, it does not make you better than her.

Let her speak. Most about to be married women are asking Tonto to keep quiet...it is Dopamine that is worrying you, when the transition from dopamine to real love sets in, your eyes will clear. Most newly married women are asking Tonto to keep quiet, it is a combination of horniness and dopamine that is disturbing you. Some male folks that flourishes in the silence of a woman want her to keep quiet. Some divorced women are asking her to keep quiet because they are ashamed of their own story (Divorced women are shamed in Nigeria because of the culture of silence so they become timid and ashamed).

So the wise ones are asking Tonto to speak. Break the silence. If the YouTube channel is not enough, speak , speak, your speaking has helped some woman out there. Your speaking is riling the patriarchal society. So keep speaking.

    1. The writeup is beautiful. I think why this culture of silence remains is that we have lived in it for so long. Its become like our second nature. Thats why i cannot bash tonto, not because i agree with all she does but because u cant tell a person how to grieve. Just like u said it doesnt mean that if we went tru sth similar and moved on, it doesnt make us better than her..I just pray that for everyone whose hurting out there that they find solace and they find wat they are looking for.
