Imo Women Stage Protest And Give Gov Ihedioha 3 Days To Apologise To Senator Rochas' Daughter Over Alleged Harassment

Thousands of Women, under the auspices of PDP Women Liberators (PWL), staged a peaceful protest during the weekend, demanding an apology and stoppage of alleged harassment against ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha’s daughter by the agents of Governor Emeka Ihedioha-led government in Imo State.

Okorocha’s daughter, Uloma, is married to Chief Uche Nwosu, a former Chief of Staff to the Imo State government and the state governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the last 2019 polls.

Speaking on behalf of the PDP Women, on which was monitored by DAILY POST at the weekend, the leader of the group, Mrs. Adiela Uzoma, expressed disappointment with the action of the governor, regretting that such action has the tendency of portraying the party in bad light before Nigerians.

However, the Woman leader (Uzoma) said, “Nothing has so ridiculed the image of our party than the molestation meted on one of Imo’s brightest female stars, Mrs. Uloma Nwosu, by an aide of our governor, and the leader of our party in this state. We wish to first of all distance ourselves and all PDP women in Imo State from such action.

“We are the nucleus of PDP in this state, as we hold the power button of the party. We wish to clearly state our disappointment with the governor for his silence over this regrettable abuse on women by his agents.

” Even though Uloma Nwosu is not a member of our party, the PDP Women Liberators is built on the vision of promoting the party (PDP) as gender friendly and sensitive. We categorically condemn any action that portrays our Party otherwise.

“We hereby demand that the governor; tenders an unreserved public apology to Mrs. Uloma Nwosu and her family within 72 hours of this publication. And to bring to the book, everyone involved in this abuse of women. We will take step to ensure that such abuse on women is stopped forthwith.

“The governor also should tender an unreserved apology to Mrs. Uloma Nwosu, whom we consider an Amazon of grace and enterprise. He (Ihedioha) should apologize to the family of the immediate past governor of the state, Rochas Omorocha and to Chief Uche Nwosu for this unwarranted abuse.”

*The alleged offender should apologise if he carried out the act and not the governor...This has nothing to do with the governor please!!!

  1. Stella, the governor has a role to play in compelling the accused to apologize. The accused wouldn't have done that if they weren't working for the governor in the first place. At this point, I will advice that, Gov. Emeka Ihedioha should concentrate on fulfilling his electoral promises to Imolites than giving much attention on blame games. Rochas failed Imo state that we all know and the reason he was rejected. Gov. Emeka should live up to expectations.

    2. Ihedioha had no reason to send his thugs to beat up Okorocha's children, let him concentrate on the people's problems and proffer solutions.

  2. I wonder why Nigerian politics is vindictive. Must a new person in power humiliate his/her successor? Why not just focus on developing your state.

Stella nobody attacked Uloma from the video I saw on Facebook. It was her aide who attacked the female blogger who was videoing Uloma. Please can you possibly check the video on Chantel Adanna Chinyere's Facebook page.
Where is the video of the attack? You think the family wouldn't have plastered it everywhere if it was true?
It wasn't sensible for Uloma to have gone to a recovery site, she would have easily been beaten up by that mob. She has to be careful so she doesn't get herself into trouble. Many Imo people are unhappy with her family.
Rochas did a lot of harm to Imo state and they need to return some of their stolen things. They really do. Has Deziani not been made to return property and jewellery? Rochas and family need to quietly do the needful

  6. NDI ULO NNA NA-AGBA OKU HA NA-ACHU OKE! The Aide shid apologise to only Uloma. Why involve the Governor. To even say HE shld apologise to Uche & Okorocha is stupidity. How many times have you people protested against unpaid salaries and pensions under the past administration. Bunch of ass lickers!

  7. Ihedioha should please focus on new projects rather re-working on what Okotocha had already done. I wish his tenure/administration the best in Imo

  8. I think the person who slapped should apologise. Did the governor send him to slap? If it is so, then Rochas has to apologise to all the people he displaced in his demolition. All the elderly women he cleared their stores and till today, did nothing with the land in which he pursued them.
