Mrs Dee's Corner -A Story To Learn From....

Sometimes you reap more than what you sow................

After the demise of my dad, I switched from private to public school and I had to cut my natural long hair from birth. Immediately I finished my WAEC exams, I couldn't wait to start making my hair again. For months, I begged my mum to give me money to weave it but she always told me she didn't have. When I couldn't bear it anymore, I decided I would ask my pastor's maid who was my mate to help me make it for free.

The day I planned to go, my mum warned me vehemently not to go but I insisted I would. I visited her and she made a simple style for me. I was very exhilarated with my new look.

The next day I got a call from one of my pastor's sons that his dad wanted to see me and while coming, I should bring his phone with me. I was honestly confused and I quickly rushed back to their house. There, I faced my pastor and the jury of his sons. I was asked if I took any phone from the house, what area of the house I entered and after the barrage of questions, my pastor concluded I didn't steal the phone and told me to go home.

The next Sunday, after church service, the pastor's wife called me aside and warned me sternly never to step my foot in her house again. She told me if I wanted anything, I should either see the husband in church or meet him in his office.

I avoided their house and tried to stay out of her way. Her sons looked at me as a thief and I bore my shame in peace. During youth songs rehearsal, I would notice that his son who had the song on his phone was quick to snatch it away when he noticed I was trying to listen to the song and copy the lyrics so as not to lose his like his brother's.

Months passed by and I moved on with my life. One time, my mum travelled to the village for her elder brother's burial and as usual we had nothing to eat. One night, as I was coming back from the little job I was doing pending when I would gain admission to the university, I called my pastor to beg him for some help as we had nothing in the house to eat. The network was very bad that day as it rained heavily and I couldn't hear him clearly. I was already drenched. I took the risk of incurring the wife's wrath because I couldn't watch my younger siblings go hungry. I however thought she wouldn't react too harshly if the hubby was present. As fate would have it, my pastor was not at home, it was just his wife and first son. I knocked and waited for a response, when she knew I was the one, she came out and pounced on me, beat me up with slaps and blows, poured sand on me and asked me if she did not want me to steer clear of her home. It was her son who dragged me away and begged me to go home because I was too dazed to move.

I got home that day in pains not from the beatings but from the way she treated me. In anger, I swore that her son would be accused falsely and no one would see him as innocent.

Twelve years later, I was chatting with my sister when she told me that my pastor's son who accused me of stealing was in big trouble. He was accused of fraud in his place of work, locked up in police cell for days without bail and fired. I was told he has an ongoing case in court. My mind immediately flashed back to the statement I made and how I never revoked it. Even though my first reaction was to gloat and feel smug. I realised that he was a husband and father now, whatever predicament he's in would definitely affect the wife and child.

And who's to say my hubby hasn't hurt someone else so bad as well which I'm not privy to?

That night, I knelt down in prayers and cancelled all the negative words I spoke against him.

We should all be careful how we treat others. Sometimes, we don't just reap what we sow, but more .......

    1. Though I know it is not easy being a pastor's wife, the attitudes of some of them leaves little to be desired.

  4. Mrs Dee don't beat yourself too much, it's not your fault. What if he stole the phone you were accused of stealing 12years ago? What if he's actually guilty of what he's being accused of @ his place of work?

  5. That pastor wife is a very wicked woman, that why if i visit anyone, wherever you're I'm there too. i was accused wrongly in school, stealing a phone too, just because i passed my laptop wire from my bunk to the girl Bunky to charge for me. i never left my corner, her friend came looking for her, we told her she bathing and she left, 4min later babe came out no phone but saw my laptop charger pluck and was charging

Babe asked me i said i don't know oh, that i asked her bunky to help me charge and i passed the wire from my corner. the Bunky went mute, oh if it is now ehhh fire for enter that hostel, that I'm very well outspoken now

if babe see me in the corner, she will be cursing oh, oh me that i rather die than steal, i couldn't sleep, was ashamed of whether people believe her. my friend couldn't take it again, that we moved.. long story, the way i begged God after cos being wrongly accused can push one to edge... it a long story but the girl traveled home, came back kneeled and begged me, to God i never knew why she did it, she said i must forgive her before she stands up. i was shocked, immediately i forgave her, she packed her things n left. till now i don't know what happened when she went home

Now ehhh I'm too careful, then when visiting anyone i pray before going. Being wrongly accused is the worst feeling, it can make one run mad. especially when you can't defend yourself as all finger is on you

    1. What do you mean by “I believe it’s the way you all presented yourselves”
A young babe with no father, trying to survive πŸ’πŸΏ‍♂️
Is it wrong to ask your pastor for help?

Such churches are everywhere, even the ones we hold in high esteem.
They are only nice when in church.

    2. Exactly Sluttychic. They are everywhere even some reputable churches, though those ones may tone it down a little, you see it in their expression and the way they talk to you.

  9. And you people kept going to the church huh,so a pastor with real spiritual gifts will not know who stole the phone in the first place rather than accusing an innocent small girl, imagine a pastor's wife behaving like a witch, threatening and beating you up at any opportunities she got,yet you people kept going to their church.

  10. the truth is as long as one is guilty of a curse,it will definitely follow him/her. A lot of people are suffering one thing or the other because someone made a negative pronouncement which they're guilty of. We on the other hand should learn to leave vengeance for God even though it can be painful and you just feel like cursing out

  15. The woman is all shades of nasty. Really. But do we really believe that when stuff happen to people who wronged us in the past it's payback for their actions? For me, life happens. That's my belief. As a friend of an ex once came pleading on his behalf. U see he left me and dated and married a friend of mine. A younger friend. That he left wasn't my headache. The way and manner he handled the whole situation wasn't fair. Imagine coming to pick me at the office, going home with me, eating my food, playing lovey until his friend came and started frowning before he pulled me aside and told me it was over.
I left moved on and later forgave him. His friend told me since l left nothing was working for him. No good job. He was downsized from the bank just when he left me. I still don't believe it's cos of me. Life happened. Things aren't still good with him but they are patching.
