  10. Good morning to you all beautiful people!
And the ring for Chioma is big, bold and beautiful.. You only give thàt to the woman you're inlove with..

In the past in Nigeria, people with not much money or some who want to cut costs use night bus to move their dead family members or friends from one state to another.
This was very common among the Eastern people of Nigeria. They'll dress the dead corpse up and position them in the backseat, some at end of the middle seats with their family members or friends sitting beside them... Some dead corpse is not even accompanied by anyone., They just make an agreement with the drivers and position them in the backseat while someone will be waiting to receive them at the other end of the state.
Ekene DiliChukwu motors and God is good motors were very good in doing this.

Many passengers will not even know that they are sitting with a dead corpse.
I don't know if they still do it nowadays.
Can someone please tell me if Ekene DiliChukwu buses are still operating....

    1. What do you need the information for??? So you will ask if they still transport corpse I guess. This woman sef *hissssssss*

    3. A corpse is already dead. No need writing 'dead corpse'.

      Delete
    4. Iti akwu!!! How many night buses have you entered to know this? The international planes you enter sometimes do you know they have corpses in them and the passengers do not know? Be talking and looking for tribal war to start. Ezi ofia

    5. Ms A I didnt see any on the road when I went back last festive period. The smaller ones eg GIGM have taken over

      Delete
    6. Yes Ekenedili chukwu buses are still here but not popular like before. I am hearing of dead people traveling in a bus with 'alive' people for the first time.

      Delete
    7. @Ms A, yes, EkenediliChukwu still operate. So now what next.??
Are you sure your narrative is for the South Eastern people, cod in all my life I've never heard of the Igbos convey the corpse of their prople by night.
Igbos identify with themselves wherever they find themselves whether home or abroad.
As St the 70s and 80s it used to be with a Chartered Luxury
buses with the kinsmen (town&village) travelling along.
Unless you're talking about the pre-independent era.
Besides, God is Good motors wasnt there when Ekene, Ijeoma, Osondu, Ekesson Motors and thei likes were in operation in the South Eastern States.
So, do you have any old "goods" to send home? 😴

  24. Good morning my people my wedding is in about 2weeks time and my mother in law who is a decorator volunteered to take up the hall decorations. I and my mom kept on asking her if we needed to pay anything she said no and insisted on taking care of everything. Recently we called her to check up on the decorations she said she calculated everything and we need like 200k, was surprised cos na her son dey do wedding and she still wants to collect such amount. Just felt disappointed in her or maybe am over reacting.I told them deco wasn't in my budget nd can only afford 60k since then she has been acting up. Am I wrong?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No you are not wrong. But if she brings it up again. Tell her to ask her Son. Her son should handle the payment. infact you won't have even replied her....you would have just have told her you will tell her son.

Every marriage comes with its testing ground....Tackle this with wisdom with your hubby so that it doesn't become an issue.

if you are a Christian too.....Sunmit her case to God...He will handle her well.

      Congratulations on your wedding.

      Delete
    2. are you the one doing the wedding or her son?
      because ayam not understanding

      Delete
    3. You should never have gone that route with her in the first place.

      Delete
    4. Yes, you are wrong.... She's a business woman and should be paid for her services except, if she had agreed to render free services as a gift to her son and his bride.

In a capitalist system society, there's no family or friends in business, else, the business will bankrupt.

Speak to your husband to be and also talk to your mother-in-law, ask her if she can bit down the price, since she once said she was going to do it for free; so, you didn't really make a budget for it.

Don't feel entitled to her services because she's your mother-in-law.

      Delete
    5. You are not wrong. Tell her it is only 60k you have or you will look for another person to do it for you. Be smart about how you go about it with her or else you will be in her bad book. This is a trying test for you. I wish yoy Gods wisdom

      Delete
    6. U are not wrong abeg....let her son be the one to pay the 60k...

      Delete
    7. You are very wrong. For dignity sake you should have immediately turned down the offer to keep your respect in that family. And I'm surprised your mum agreed. Yes!! If you had turned her down and got a neutral vendor within your budget you would have a reasonably good decor and no drama.

      Delete
    8. Ms.A, have you thought about it that it's her son doing the wedding? Where then is the place of sacrifice in all this? Couldn't that be her own support to them? What's the essence of having our own in things like this? I blame the poster of this comment for involving herself, she should have allow the hubby talk to the mom about it and let me know how the mother would have felt collecting money from him. Maybe Poster is the one sponsoring the wedding.

      Delete
    9. Ms A please scroll up and read again. God bless you as you do so.

      Delete
    10. Ms A did you read what she wrote at all? What are you talking about? She clearly stated her MIL volunteered and they even asked about payment, she told them not to bother and you are here saying she is wrong.

Your MIL already committed to decorating the hall and If she is cash trapped, let her talk to her son now, why is she coming to you like it is solely your business?

Anyway, the mistake I think you even made is allowing your MIL handle the decoration. Maybe you should have told her you have contracted it to someone as you didn't want to stress her.

Discuss with your hubby and work something out for her. All the best.

      Delete
    11. Ms A, didn't you read where the poster said she and her mother asked the MIL who said it won't cost them anything? Did MIL not know she was a businesswoman before she volunteered?

Bride-to-be, talk to your husband, please. Convince him to get a decorator that's not related to either of you in any way and pay that person. Your MIL will do a shoddy job and you won't be able to talk cos it will cause another thing. Then she is going to use "She only paid me 60K to decorate" as her chorus for the next how many years, and she will forget it's you and her son that paid her. In-laws or even family getting more involved in your wedding ALWAYS causes more trouble than it's worth. They'll mess up, act like they're doing you a favour even when you're paying them, then still be the one to hold grudges. Pay real vendors that you can afford. And get your husband to tell his mother that as mother of the groom, her job will be to come, look good and dance on the day. Hopefully, she won't wear white to upstage you.

      Delete
    12. you are very wrong with your reply to your mil, you should have spoken to her with your husband (her son) or tell her that mummy let me discuss with my husband and we will get back to you. Are you the one payinf for wedding stuffs? nne you are making a big mistake with this decision. Talk to your husband about the price his mother is taking about, push it to him. Let them settle the matter do not allow your mil to see you as her enemy. All the best

      Delete
    13. If your MIL knew she would charge you, she should have been very clear in communicating that, the way she would relate with an unrelated client as well.
Ask her to SINCERELY tell you if she is fine with the N60k. If she says no, I would suggest you ask her to pls let you contract someone else as you can’t afford that. Try your best not to let the conversation degenerate into an argument.
By the way, where is your hubby in all this? That’s what most important to me sef. Your comment almost insinuated that you are paying for your wedding yourself. I hope I am wrong, otherwise, wedding decor is really the least of your problems.

      Delete
    14. Firstly your mistake was when she offered her service, you would have have thanked her and involved your husband to be from the get go, abi are yo getting married to firewood that you cant talk to him? let him be involved in the planning after all its his wedding too.
Without it looking like yo u want to cause division, tell him - i have spoken to your mom that offered to do the decor and she is charging us 200k, what should we do?? Let him make the decision so whatever comes up thereafter you will know its her son (and your) decision

      All the best
