International Students Can Now Stay And Work In The UK After Graduating

International students will henceforth be able to stay and work in the UK after graduating, the British Government has said.

This is a huge boost to a policy that had previously restricted the period to four months.

As reported by inews, there will be no cap on the number of students who can apply, as those with student visa will be able to apply to switch to a skilled worker visa if they find a job which meets the relevant criteria.

The new policy ends one of ex-Prime Minister Theresa May’s most controversial immigration policies which critics argued would deter international students from applying to British institutions and would lead to the loss of bright students who could contribute to the UK after being educated there.

    1. This is how it was before the previous PM shot it down. They however lost millions in revenue because foreign students were paying three to four times higher in fees than their citizens. They have since lost out to other European, Asian countries and the new PM has seen the error in this. At least, in terms of income

  3. I still prefer canada because you get permanent residence afterwards... With the UK, after 2 years they will send you back so not a good option for those looking for permanent escape route o.

    1. Nothing good about it. It's an old development that was shelved and in the wake of dwindling revenue and the brexit brouhaha, they need the undergraduate workhands as well as the revenue from the school fees.

  11. I sincerely pity Nigeria. The western world are using us to build their economy and provide for their citizens. The best brains are leaving the country for the corrupt to continue to roost for their selfish gain.

It's similar to what the western world gained during the slave trade era. The difference is they're educating you and giving you better surroundings compared to your home country.

Do you know most whites do not go to the university? Yet, they will get the same benefits (and ever more) that you blacks with the highest qualifications gained in their universities. Think about it.

Me sha i go go if the opportunity arises. hehehehehe

  13. UK needs the revenue generated from the very high tuition fees of foreign students.

Canada, other European countries and Asia have taken over.

The brain-drain from Nigeria is massive.

Unfortunately, the FG have failed woefully to plan for the teeming Nigerian youths who are the future wealth of the nation.
No smart government wastes their youthful human resource because they are indeed the future leaders (workforce - creativity and productivity).
    *Practical education
    *Moral Education
    *Adequate Healthcare delivery
    *Welfare (Food, housing etc)
    *Protection of child rights
These are some of the right investment in the youths to sustain a nation.

What we have are grandfather's who are close to the graves SQUANDERING our "youthful-currency" on the altar of their corruption and insatiable greed.
