Dangote Initiates Programme To Empower Women With N10 Billion

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has commenced his empowerment scheme for 774,000 women from the 774 local government areas of the nation.

A least of 1000 women from each council will partake in the 10 billion naira fund.

So far, N3.345 billion has been disbursed to 334,500 women across Kano, Jigawa, Kogi, Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, Lagos, Niger and Nasarawa states.

Dangote said: “In Sokoto, we are empowering 23,990 women, including those in the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Rabah local goverment area. 1,000 vulnerable women were selected in each of your 23 local government areas.

“However, due to the displacement of the community in Rabah, we have also included all eligible women in the IDP camp, totalling 1,990 for Rabah council.”
Dangote said the micro-grants programme was a component of his foundation’s economic empowerment pillar.

“We will provide the 23,990 vulnerable women identified by your selection committee, with a one-off, unconditional N10,000.00 cash grant to boost their household income. This, we believe, will help reduce their vulnerability and meet their livelihood needs.

“This N10 billion programme was launched in 2012 and is being systemically rolled out nationwide to reach 1,000 vulnerable women in each of our 774 local goverment areas in Nigeria,” Dangote said.

  1. That is about 12k per head, they should do a smaller number of women,so that the beneficiaries will be able to get a tangible amount of money.

  2. Dangote is the reason most part of Africa where his businesses are is being impoverished. He is gradually selling African youths into slavery with the way his Indian Management are treating people. Making a lot of money and paying the people working for him peanuts and forming a blind eye to it. No jobs in Africa but must you be used to maltreat your people in the guise of making money? No African is out to dupe you, stop bringing low quality indians to take up jobs that locals can do even better and the indians threatening them at the same time. Most of the indians dont know the job but are left and given high posts just because you dont want Africans or are out to just use people to make money. They are forming slave drivers everywhere and maltreating people. The Nigerian government too is not helping matters by giving all sorts of work permits to foreigners to come into Dangote to take up even gardening job and yet we keep complaining there are no jobs. Dangote workers are treated as slaves in their own country and sadly with the help of their various governments because he is always in the news for charity which he does for clout. The guy is a mean business man dont be deceived by what you read see in the news. The killings on the road is another issue entirely.

    2. Interesting. A scientific study found that 25% of c-level executives and big players in big business were sociopaths. Most of the ppl at the top have had to step on a few heads to get there and stay there. Big business is oftentimes a very nasty affair filled with lots of infighting and backstabbing.

When CBN sees it is dangote behind thr bank failures, they just remove nigeria money abd inhect again no questions aaked. Is dangote the owner of nigeria? Dangote is the reason behind all failed banks in Nigeria. Take that to the bank.
