Botham Jean lived in the same building with the cop but a floor lower. The cop who walked into his house and shot him point blank in the head while he was eating a bowl of ice cream and watching Tv ,said she mistook his house for hers and felt he was an intruder, prompting her shooting him fatally.
In a case on Tuesday, 2nd October, the jury found her guilty and sentenced her to 10 years imprisonment having found she had been exchanging racist messages with a fellow colleague and posting racist comments on her social media page.
The younger brother begged the Judge for a moment to hug her before she was led away. He was heard saying he had forgiven her and held nothing against her.
The judge, Tammy Kemp who was already sniffling and wiping away tears, joined in hugging her, prayed for her and offered her a Bible.
The sentencing has sparked a debate as some saw the judgement as a slap in the face considering the level of innocent killings of blacks by whites and the religious beliefs of Christians to preach the message of forgiveness.

Even the America whose justice system democracies all over the world revere got it totally wrong on this one. I am appalled by the ruling and the unnecessary show of emotion when the law could have been maximally applied to send a strong message.

It was shown and proven that her claim that she thought she was about to enter her apartment and found it locked from inside was disproved because one door card won't work in another apartment, the door can't be opened from outside without the assigned card and there was no sign of a forced entry so how come you started banging on the door, it opens and the 1st thing you do is to shout stand down at the man standing surprised and then shoot him dead?

Well said. I’m so embarrassed by the judge’s behavior more so by the black bailiff who was combing the killers hair in open court. White people do not forgive blacks for any mistake. They call the police on us hoping we will get shot. I have no problem with the brother forgiving because that’s his business but the judge hugging the killer and giving her her own Bible was so unprofessional and such an embarrassment. I’m glad the people of Dallas are giving her serious backlash.

While I will leave vengeance to God, nobody who killed a child of mine could be my friend and they would have to beg and plead for my forgiveness, it would not come so cheaply. Forgiveness is not about the other person, it's about you, the forgiver. If you don't, your own sins won't be forgiven and the hate will wear you down.

Cos with you people, the victimised person will be required to prove their forgiveness by dropping all charges or refusing to cooperate with the police to see the offender behind bars.
