Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative....

Na Dem!!!!

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
OFFICE BROUHAHA

Dear bvs i need your advise on how i can handle this issue on ground in my place of work.

the cleaners working in my office are not doing their jobs well, like you will have to remind thm to clean the rest room, you need to inform them to replace tissue paper, you need to tell them to clean the floor, you need to tell them to replace cway water. Every complain of what they need, lack, not in stock, not functioning comes to my desk. You have to tell the them to replace hand washing detergent.

In short you practically remind them for everything as you all know is there job to keep the whole place clean. i am feed up with this attitude and is giving me concern.

Most time i will be the one checking to see that the whole place is clean, the whole place has nice smell or the whole place is conducive for visitors. If you work with oyibo people you will understand that they do not like things scattering around the office area. It is part of my job function to make sure things are in place, cleaners do their job but i don't like to exercise power at all.

Imagine since this week the rest room for female no one has washed it nor mop the flour. I spoke to the cleaner around my flour he told me they will do it till now the place is still like that. Mind you i am the only female staff on our building but i have seen the female cleaners using the rest room with me which i have not stopped any of them because i feel there is no use in trying to boss people all the times. Now i am tired of talking or reporting issues to the guy who is their supervisor as the guy is not putting his guys in order.

I want to take action but i don't want to report them any more to that their supervisor who is not doing anything to handle my complains. I am thinking of reporting them to the main oga who my company has an agreement with but i don't want anyone to loose their job because of me.

Advise me on how to go about this issue. please advise and do not consider my cut join story.

*Sack them and get serious cleaners otherwise you might be sacked for their failure to keep the place clean.....

  1. Tell them you're going to report/sack them. If they don't sit up then you may be forced to do so.

    3. Call a meeting with them and their head and tell them that's the last verbal warning they will be getting from you. After that meeting, draw up an excel sheet of each person's specific duty and at what period/time each duty should be carried out, give to each of them a copy and paste another copy in a conspicuous place for all to see. Any nonsense after all these, please don't hesitate to suspend without pay, sack or whatever other measure you deem fit.
      Lazy set of humans. Kmt

    4. They are used to being lazy. I doubt they will change. You will be the one always getting annoyed. Report them already. Change the whole lot, because any you leave behind will affect in coming. Or put up with their shit.

  2. They are not competent at all
    They are irresponsible.

    1. She means floor and you know it.

Poster, do your job. Put one person in charge of eachthing and hold that person accountable for it. Give one person or a team of 2 people in charge of female toilet, another for male toilet, another for replacing sanitary stuff and and another for periodic touch ups. E.g. After the initial morning general cleaning, there should be touch ups every 2 or 3 hours depending on how frequently it is used or how many people use it.
You must be firm and persistent till it becomes a culture. Don't expect to just give instruction and they will make it a tradition automatically. You must repeatedly and consistently follow it up for at least one full month or moreon hourly basis before the culture can sink.

It's not their fault. They live in homes that does not have such well kept facilities and you will have to get them to appreciate hygiene at your level. DO NOT RELENT.

Take it from someone who has been there, done that.
      Cheers.

  7. Lose their jobs because of you or because they are inefficient and irresponsible? You are the one who will soon lose your job because of them since you can't be firm.

  10. You can't spell or what? It's "floor" damnit!

  11. Please don't sack them. Explain to them that their jobs are on the line if they don't measure up

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ask the cleaning company to send new cleaners to replace those ones. All they have to do is replace those cleaners with well trained cleaners and send those other ones to other places. They won’t lose their jobs

  15. I don't like it when one take his/her job for granted and still expect salary at the end of the month.
How dare you jeopardize the job of your supervisor? There attitude towards work shows gross insensitivity.
Poster, report and relieve them of their job ASAP else your job will be at stake.
There are many capable people who are in search of jobs and this miscreants are taking theirs for granted.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You better don't allow any one use their blues to spoil your own.

Report them to the higher authority, if they refused to change na sack straight. Let them go home and rest since they cannot do the job. How can you b.talking to an adult like children? They don't have respect at all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Why not open up to them directly. You don't have to be bossy about it. Explain to them that they are making your job difficult, since your job includes making sure they do their job. That you wouldn't want anyone to see you in a bad-light or not capable of doing your job, so they should respect themselves or they will force you do your job properly. If they still don't buckle up, Omoh go report them oo.

But are sure your job includes monitoring their own job? why do they have a supervisor then?
Abi you don't want to mind your business.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Please report them. So that means they don’t do anything all day and they are been paid? They should be sacked abeg

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why can't they use the restroom that you are using? You be God? Anyway my suggestion is for you to get new cleaners. Maybe their pay is small that's why they don't do the job well. But just get new cleaners.

  21. My dear stop making excuses for incompetent people or else you will loose your job. When the cleaners in the company where I work were not doing their job, I simply asked their company to change them. Infact i did a performance audit for the company and i let them know that if in 2 months I dnt see significant improvement I will be forced to drop their services. Within that 2 months i sent 6 cleaners away, the remaining 50 knew they had to buckle up or leave.

  22. Issue like this is meant to be reported formerly. Put all communications between you and the supervisor in an email, cc all concerned and see what happens. This helps in event they are sack there are enough evidence. Pls save your butts!

    ReplyDelete
  23. My sister let them go. Abi you self won loose your job??? The problem is their oga. They need strong hands. In my company every where is perfectly clean and you dnt need to tell them their jobs as their oga is In control. The probz is their supervisor.

You are too weak, soft and sentimental to be a leader. If they are not doing their jobs, which they are paid to do, probably because they feel too big for the cleaner job, then they should all be fired. Abi you people owe them salary??? You have become a push over because of your ‘softness’ and it’s quite sad.

I was just thinking of baking myself a cake because of this your chronicle with all the ‘flour flour flour’ all over the place. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think you should warn them for the last time and also tell them you will report them to the main oga, if they didnt improve then go ahead and report Asap

    ReplyDelete
  26. Poster report them, if the are sacked they will be serious with their next job.

I'm seek and tired of this "I don't want him/her/them to be sacked because of me".

    ReplyDelete
  27. A mild form of madness is doing the same thing the way and expecting a different result. That your format isn't working for them so change it. I think their contracts should be threatened and femail cleaners should find another bathroom. That way, you and them wont be seen as mates when you give instructions. Some people need that stratification to understand who their superiors are.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Na wah o. So, this one too qualify to be chronicle? Chaiiii.... Wetin Musa no go see for gate.

Meanwhile, continue to indulge indolence till you're sacked

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hmmmm I work in as administrative head and know the stress dealing with cleaners. My advice is sometimes you have to be strict and firm as that’s all they understand

    ReplyDelete
  30. You are the one enabling their bad behaviour through your inaction. Set an example with just one of them and you will see others immediately fall in line. Sack, suspend, paycut just take action and you will talk less.

  31. For about four weeks, the cleaners in my office were slacking. My manager spoke to the director of the cleaning company he said he would handle it the following Monday it was the Same. She viewed the CCTV camera and noticed they were there for less than 20 mins however we paid them for 2 hours. Sentiments aside she sacked them because we couldnt be managing a filthy place. This is why I like oyibo people . Nigerians will be there thinking about others. 32. Sack them and employ me pls.
I hv first degree but it doesn't matter.
    SDK pls post it.

  33. First of all set boundaries. See finish has entered. Lock your toilet. Open it in the morning for them to clean and lock it after. That way you have it stay clean. Give them one final warning about cleaning, then say nothing else. If they are slacking, silently get them sacked. There’s no need for too much english. Nigerian staff respond to fear not familiarity.

  34. Poster write a weekly To-do-list
    Toilet A
    Mop floor
    Clean toilet bowl with Bleach
    Replace toilet roll
    Replenish hand wash etc
Make the person responsible to walk around with list and tick each task completed every day then return the list to your desk
Then that person will take responsibility if the chore is not done. When one person loses their job, the others go learn from small and sit up

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lol! This mess is the reason many people refuse to promote women. This is the real closing of doors for other women. Tomorrow y'all will be crying about sexism and racism.

You don't have the heart to handle the seat. Resign or ask to be demoted, so that a better human being who can do what is necessary, can be found.

You're behaving as if there are no procedures for dealing with this kind of thing in your organisation. You're waiting for the day there'll be an important meeting that will bring in high-profile female visitors from outside. And all hell will break loose when they find the toilets dirty. Who knows what impact that will have on their health or your organisation's reputation and profitability? RME.

Do you know that you're being extremely wicked by allowing your employer pay for what they're not getting? Even if they're plucking the money, haba! Small responsibility you were given, look at the nonsense story you're sending. If you like, come here and try to display the power you obviously lack IRL to get cleaners replaced.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You do your job WELL you hear?

Stop being weak and part of the problem

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's like we have association of lazy cleaners now. Same with my office, you have to practically repeat what you want our cleaner to do everyday. If you tell her to clean tissue holder or cabinet, she does it now, till the day you tell her again..

    ReplyDelete
  38. People are not doing their jobs which tells you that they kuku don't care about their job but you don't want to report them so they don't lose the job they don't care about. Ok.

Let me tell you why those cleaners aren't working and why their supervisor doesn't do anything when you complain. It's because of you. They know you won't do more than a hanging pant so they won't stress themselves
