EFCC Set To Seize Hospital Worth N1.5bn Allegedly Linked To Ex Gov. Okorocha's Aide

The EFCC has secured another victory in its campaign against grand corruption in public service as Justice T.G Ringin of a Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, on December 6, ordered the final forfeiture of Dews of Hope Hospital, a N1.5 Billion state-of-the-art 200-bed hospital, allegedly owned by an aide to a former governor of Imo State and serving senator, Rochas Anayo Okorocha.

The Commission had on August 22, 2019 secured the interim forfeiture of the property from a vacation Judge, Justice A. T Mohammed of Federal High Court, Port Harcourt. The application for interim forfeiture was triggered by evidence that the facility may have been acquired through proceeds of illicit activities, as funds from Government House, Owerri were traced to the hospital.

The Commission’s investigation revealed that Dr. Paschal Obi, former Permanent Secretary and Principal Secretary to then Governor Okorocha, now a serving member of the House of Representatives, was a signatory to the accounts.

  1. Hope all things retrieved will be given back to IMO state govt where it was stolen. Before buhari will use veto power and siphon it.

  2. EFCC not smiling again. Greedy politicians everywhere.

  3. government should not shut down the hospital, because of the health of people there and the employment the hospital have created..Government should take control of the hospital and the daily

  4. Efcc just targeting the remotely viable candidates for 2023 presidency from the east, alas there will be no one left then power will go back to them, yet we say they are the dumb ones

    1. Biko emebozila ndi Igbo. If these criminals are what we have to offer in 2023, na big shame. People that couldn't do anything for their states as governors, wetin dem go do as president? Let's leave sentiments abeg.

    2. Let Rochas go to jail. I don't pity him one bit.

  5. That hospital is for Rochas.. if you know what this man has acquired in his life in different state.. you will weep for Imo.. this is small.. wicked okorocha.

  6. Good news. praise be to God woop woop! EFCC is working.
