Donald Trump To Extend Travel Ban To Nigeria

The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order that will restrict Nigeria and six other countries from travelling with the B1 and B2 types of visa (business and visitors visa) to the US .

According to Politico and the Wall Street Journal, the visa ban will affect Nigeria, Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Sudan and Tanzania.

Donald Trump is expected to announce the Countries on the list on Monday, January 27, 2020.

In 2018, the Homeland Security Department released data showing that 24% of Eritreans, 15% of Nigerians and 12% of people from Sudan overstayed their visas.

The federal government however is yet to react to the news.

    2. I am telling you, though the Nigerians in diaspora are the ones that spoilt chances for other Nigerians with genuine intentions. Most Nigerians they give visit visa to the US never come back thus giving Nigerians a bad name.

Funny enough it is these same Nigerians that are giving Nigerians a bad name that are always first to cuss out the country and those living in it forgetting they have relatives back home and if push comes to shove, they will be sent back home with their "fake" citizenship .

If US ban, they will all run to Canada, by the time Canada starts banning they will run to Australia, Sweden and co Las Las na Iraq and Iran dem go relocate, anywhere but Nigeria shioor.

    3. Anonymous@13:50, let me take on your message point for point. First of all, the ones that you claim " spoilt chances for other Nigerians with genuine intentions" are those who get visiting visa and overstay their visa. Also those who come with visiting visa and hook up with an American to change their status.
There is nothing like "fake" citizenship. I don't understand what you mean by that. It is either one is a citizen or not. If not, you have to be a permanent resident or hold a valid visa. So what's your point here?

    4. @15:10, if citizenship was obtained fraudlently, then it can be revoked. Maybe that is what she terms as fake. Someone I know was recently stripped of his citizenship because his marriage was ruled as fraudlent and it was. Long story but he is serving time in jail now, after which he will be deported.

  3. Some people overstayed their visa and other people will pay the price.

There are consequences for every action.

Many will make a U-turn to Canada now.

  4. Now everyone will suffer from the poor choices of a few. Migrate properly they won't hear, they'll be doing sharp sharp we're smarter than the system. Now some of them are fleeing to canada, when they realize how harsh it is to be illegal in the states.

    1. That's not the reason. It racism. They do not like the fact that many Nigerians do well in America

Your sense of reasoning scares me.
      Nigerians do well how?
Obey the laws of a country.
Is that too much to ask?
Just imagine Nigeria being ruled by someone like you.
Disaster. We will beg for Buhari then.

    3. @13:17 , everything is not racism. Face the truth! Most Nigerians that go there with visit visa don't return. Few years back, I know of a family of 5 that relocated with visit visa, haba! These people (US) are not fools na. They plan for their population and you Nigerians will now go there and start doing any how. What about the ones that give birth there and run away? For sanity sake I think they should ban.

You Nigerians are not representing us well at all. Imagine spoiling the chances for genuine ones. Always trying to outsmart the system. What is now the difference between you immigrants and the thieves called polliticians

    4. How many Nigerians are doing well there? Be deceiving yourselves. So working as a sales girl/ boy (old men and women o) is doing well? I see all of you when I travel to the US and I just shake my head.

    5. Anonymous 14:03 what is wrong with working as a sales girl/boy? That's the problem with us in Nigeria. We have the "bigmannism" mentality that make us feel that we are to highly placed to do a certain kind of job. it is for this reason that you see a gate man or driver wanting to live life like is "oga" without doing anything to change his situation, but with just shear greed!
Let's us all be humble and appreciate hard work and know that there is dignity in labour! Everyone is important; the plumber, the mechanic, the gateman, the barber, the cleaner, the bricklayer, the civil servant, the police, the nurse, the sales boy/girl.....everyone is important and needed to make a society function properly. That's what society should be all about and that's what we must teach our children! Respect everyone's occupation,as they all come together to make society a very functional institution.

    6. Nothing wrong in manual labour. It is better than crime such as stealing, yaboo etc. There is dignity in labour. Read yesterday about a white woman, a Nobel laureate that was a taxi driver before she became known in her field. Never despise small beginnings. Say another thing abeg.

  5. Their loss. All the Visa money they chop without granting visas will stop. Now that you want to ban, there will be no need for us to keep churning out money,( increased fees for that matter) to the US govt.

    1. Read the post clearly! It is a certain type of visa category that is being banned. Then go to google to research what category this is before rushing to comment! Let's always try to be rightly informed.

    2. 15:21 it is you who should read clearly. They also take money to making a visiting visa don't they? So what is cyclone saying that you do not understand?

      Delete
    3. Anonymous 15:33, so they shouldn't take money for visas? They don't need they money as they plan to institute a travel ban, so we can save our money instead of paying for visas and not getting approved. Abi no be so.

  7. It has nothing to do with overstay. Nigerians are not the only ones who overstay. Indians, chinese, many European. It has to do with your recent boastful nature that we are doing so great in America. They do not like you. They treated your ancestors like crap, you think suddenly they love you or want to see you succeed?
