DeleteI left the convent after 3years and some months..I couldn't find peace there and the quest for knowledge made me biase.now,I am married with kids..I am good ..though my mom's friends still make fun of her and me..it was so evident the day,they gave my mom life membership..the taunting isn't funny but God is good.

Virgin or not,you can become a Reverend if you choose to.
Yes, non virgin can join the convent... I know people who were already sexually active and later joined the convent. They said they were called by God. One was a very closed friend of mine; we were also members of CGO back then.

You think Rev.sister is what you wake up one morning and become.It takes years upon years,stages and a lot of dedication,hardwork and ofcourse,there's an age limit for aspiring Reverends.
I don't know about Rev.sisters but it takes atleast 10 years or more to become a Reverend Father.So you can imagine going into the convent at age 27(i doudbt it's possibility)because THEY DID NOT SEE HUSBAND.

ReplyDeleteI am happy for her. Can you imagine being celibate for life? Never having to be held, kissed, etc it’s not easy sha. Even people who get it for 2 minutes still complain. It’s better for them to get married than stay in and be shooking small boys and girls.

My brother has been married to one for almost 10 years.
ReplyDeleteShe wasn't ordained Rev Sister yet before she left but people still call all of them Sisters.
For starters, even if ordained you are still free to leave. Probably why final profession is done about 25 years after first ordination as Rev Sister. When they would have reached menopause.
Leaving doesn't mean that they have been sampling phallus while wearing the habit. It could be lack of fulfillment. I lived with one who is contemplating leaving.
